I really loved that movie for the concept and feel of it. But I hated it for the goofy plot. I mean, the whole paranoid military compound thing was so flawed as a concept that it only worked as an isolated showcase for that cool eyeball gouging scene at the end.
I only became comfortable with that opinion around the 3rd time I saw it (had lotsa friends want to watch it). I had my belief fully suspended for the first viewing, and it delivered well.
I'm glad someone else will be getting a shot at directing it and I hope it does well.

Yeah, it only took 28 days for that group of military guys to become sex-crazed maniacs, bent on re-populating the world. Flawed.

I can't wait for a sequel! I would be gutted if Danny Boyle and Alex Garland weren't fully involved. I met them when they held a screening here in Newcastle, England. They had such passion for the material. I admit, parts of the film were a little weak. Having a second chance to change or update their initial ideas would be great to see!

God I hope this movie does well! I loved the first one even though some parts were slow. I think I like it so much because of the unknown cast. Low-budget actors made the story feel real insted of having Brad Pitt in it. :) Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how well this movie will be, and whether the story will be different. Looking forward to it.
