Eric Idle's Singing Tribute to the FCC

Eric Idle has written and recorded a charming little ditty called "The FCC Song" and is offering it as a free download. It pokes fun at the Federal Communications Commission, the recent indecency fines, mentions Howard Stern, Clear Channel, Attorney General Ashcroft, President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Haliburton, Enron, Martha Stewart, Condoleeza Rice, the EPA, Alaska Oil, and more.

"Here?s a little song I wrote the other day while I was out duck hunting with a judge? It?s a new song, it?s dedicated to the FCC and if they broadcast it, it will cost a quarter of a million dollars."

Good ol' activist/clown Eric Idle: In 1963, as a collegiate, he was admitted into the Cambridge Footlights comedy club. He became president of the club the following year and one of his first acts was to open the membership up to include women. Feminist/writer Germaine Greer was one of the first to join.

Hey, that song was pretty funny. Was the tune from one of his older songs? It sounded familiar.
