Bale has the talent and the looks to do Bats, but he has to lose the accent first. The rest are only suited for Robin.

He can easily lose the accent. Look at his work in American Psycho.
I'm thinking established actors don't want to touch this role, for fear of being typecast.

If it cant be Michael Keaton, who is by far the best Batman yet, then please avoid those no good teen-girl-pleasers...

Actually, Bat-Man: Year One is one of the movies in pre-production. D.C. Comics has 5 scripts being re-written and casted. Bat-Man/Super-Man [!!!]being one, Bat-Man 6 [boo] being another and some off-the-wall Bat-scripts such as Arkham Asylum and Birds of Prey constituting the other possible bat-flix.......

Hate to bust your bubble to anyone that wanted to see one the other gooney looking idiots who were for some god forsaken reason being looked at as potential Batman material. But Christian Bale is the man. He has been cast and will fit the part wonderfully. However it is not him I am worried about... This movie has huge potential to suck.... well hugely. Didn't we say what we needed to say with the all the other crappy sequels to Batman. 'Comon now, we all know that this is going to blow, but I suppose although I am not going to rush to the theatre to spend $9 to see this I will be looking forward to seeing Bale take root in his new rubber nipple sporting role. I will definatley spend the $1.50 to rent this marvelous pile of garbage after its new release subtheme has regressed to regular video rental. Rock on Christian! Start doing some good movies, you are a great actor!

I Think all you ass heads who are already putting down a movie that hasnt even been shot yet should wake the *&$% up and consider this. The movie is being directed by Christopher Nolan. Now for any of you who like to think you know anything about films but really don't, Chris is the amazingly talented director who started with "Following", followed by the fantastic "Memento", and his last film to date "Insomnia" which was a well made film on the directors part. Now for any of you who have seen his films will agree that you can probable expect the Dark Night to return in a film that will, this time, be actually dark and not some crazy techno coloured circus style whatever that we have recently been exposed to. The film is supposed to feature the villain Scarecrow and is based on the script called Batman: The Frightning...which is now rumoured to be called Batman: Intimidation Game. But thats just a name so it doesn't matter. Personally i think Bale is perfect and his ability to show just the right amounts of light and darkness is the exact reason why Chris chose him...be glad its not Josh Jackson. In conclusion ladies and gents...whether you agree or disagree, i think many of you can expect to recieve a long waited salvation to the Batman franchise.

Christian Bale is a great actor and would be perfect in this prequel. A lot of people wouldn't know who the hell he is either. Which is cool because he doesn't bring a whole lot of other characters to memory, other than Patrick Bateman I suppose, but Bale is completely capable of acting DIFFERENT in his various projects, as opposed to freaking Dawson's geek. I don't know why his pictures up there...anyway, yay Christian Bale. You'll be a good young batman.

Omg, whoever said this sooo know wtf they're talking about. I think Cillian (and its pronounced Kill-eean for all those haters out there) is the babe to cast in this new Batman flick. His acting skillz were magnif in 28 Days Later. And if Halle Berry plays on here as Catwoman, the kiss would be unbelievable! U all saw the great chemistry btwn him and the black girl in 28 Days. He'd be hotter than the sidekick Robin, and if he can change his obviously strong irish accent abit, his sexy deep voice is so Batman material. So, I think Mr. Murphy is the choice actor for the upcoming movie.
