Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed he will challenge California Governor Gray Davis in a recall election, set for October. Schwarzenegger will be joining a host of other celebrities in the race for governor including Gary Coleman and Larry Flynt.

BURBANK, Calif. (Reuters) - Terminating weeks of speculation about his political intentions, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger said on Wednesday he will challenge California Gov. Gray Davis in an unprecedented recall election this fall.
After keeping California's political establishment guessing, Schwarzenegger announced his decision on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
The announcement caught many observers by surprise as he had been expected to say he would not run for family reasons.
