M. Night Shyamalan's next flick, the oddish sounding, The Woods, is quickly acquiring a cast worthy of an emotional erection. William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Joaquin Phoenix, and now Adrien Brody have all signed on to play townsfolk that live in constant fear of a mythical race of creatures that exist in the woods that surround their community. The story, written by Shamy, takes place in 1897. ?
It seems that The Woods script has come faster for M. Night than his other scripts. ?During the making of Signs, he spoke in interviews of it being odd that he didn't ?know and wasn't sure of what he was going to do next. ?Shamy got the idea for Unbreakable while filmming The Sixth Sense, and the idea for Signs while working on Unbreakable. ?
It's interesting to note, a lot of different directors, some prominent ones, and a few talented actors, seem to be gravitating towards horror pictures. ?There's been an odd rash of them over the past eight or nine months. ?Fear is trendy. ?It's like our new bread and butter. ?We should have some sort of fear index for our society. ?Oh wait... Regardless, I look forward to anything Shamy does.
And i like calling him Shamy.
