Shouldn't that be the other way around? Besides, Tim Burtons not very renowned for using lots of Digital Effects in his movies.

burton is PERFECT for directing (hell, playing!) wonka. the original charley & the chocolate factory book ***IS*** dark! hell, the working title of the original 1971 film was rumored to be "wonka's inferno" because all the children meet such grisly ends (save charley). roald dahl, who wrote the book and did the screenplay, is rumored to not like children very much at all, though he made millions during his life off of their parents buying his children books for them. so i think burton is perfect to bring these angles out.

I completely agree. Tim Burton is perfect for it. But, as the other is considered a classic, I'd like to see Gene Wilder team with Burton and star in it again. People tend to forget what a dark dramatic actor he can be and I'd love to see he, along with Burton, redo the film correctly, as the book and Dahl intended.
Roald Dahl... Child Advocate or Tyrrant?

If you look at any Roald Dahl book you'll see a child getting tyrranized in some way. Wonka did it to the "naughty" children in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches, they were turning kids into mice and killing them. In Matilda, the headmistress Trunchbull threw children and tortured them in cells. James and the Giant Peach, James was starved by his aunts I think it was. I don't know if he was trying to say that children are underestimated as human beings and can rise up over foes or that they deserve to be beat on because they're inferior.

So is it going to happen er what? I think Mr Burton is the perfect guy for the twisted tale. I can see Johnny Depp playing the part of the psychotic and flamboyant Willy Wonka too.....they guy is tremendously talented and diverse. I would really like to see this come about.....must do some deeper snooping......have a great day all. :o)

YOUR RETARDED, why whould you want Manson to play Wanka, Depp is favor of all Burton films, Depp a great acter who is the best person for this film, Manson whould NOT, and i repeat, whould NOT be suited to play Wonka what so ever, thats the same as saying Woody Allen whould be a great candidate for Wonka. Neither of them work out for the creative and marvelous mind of Tim Buton. So enough of the Manson BS.

NOO YOU, Manson is NOT the man for Wonka, hes not that twisted in real life, hes an artist with a different style of creativity, as said before, Depp is the perfect choise of any and most of Burtons films, besides, why whould Manson play the role of a eccentric candy maker in the first place, id think he has had enough of Willy Wonka crap, with all those rumors of him being Charlie in the the original 1970s verson. DIE SCUM.

Depp has already been handed the part.Depp is the one who wants manson to have it.in a statement depp said this"its an exciting possibility for me to go and do another film with tim.it would be a ball.i'll keep all my digits crossed as it were.that said i'd go and see manson as wonka, i'd go see him do anything."

Grandpa Joe really must be played by Don Knotts, it's simply too perfect. Really, Burton ought pay my suggestion some mind, seeing as I have (rather had) a Grandpa Joe, and he was rather Knottslike, as I recall.

wonka,in fact he said he

good friends, and depp wanted to give marilyn a chance to be in the spotlight[not that he is not already.]

You guys are all crazy! First of all Manson is a crazy fool and The Cholate Factory would be a box office failier if he did it. The producers have no intentions to give it to him so you should all stop obsessing. Jonny Depp is the best canidate, and Burton loves him. Depp is just the right mixture between weird and accetable. People would go and see it, (especially if they saw Pirates!)and everything will be wonderful. So there!

you are right, the producers do not have any intentions of giving him the part,BUT DEPP DOES.there you overobsessed johnny depp fans go again shuting him down.depp says he wants marilyn to have the part!why can't you just agree with the man you like?isn't this what the whole conversation is about, giving depp what he wants?so do depp a favor, respect his wishes.oh yeah, and learn how to spell his name right!

Though Marilyn Manson will not be playing Wonka, I still believe that he would enjoy it himself, simply because he has always said that he doesn't want to take a part that people would expect. I highly doubt that many would expect such of a role from him. And he may add new kind of twist to the old story. Or at least give Wonka a new look, so to speak. Not in clothes or style, but in physical attributes.
