Liv Tyler to play Bettie Page

Here's some hot news from the 'who wants to see Liv Tyler nude' department:

(WENN) Luscious Liv Tyler has signed up to play 1950s icon Bettie Page - and the part requires her to don slinky leather outfits.

The Lord Of The Rings star has been desperate to play bondage-loving Page for nearly four years and has been waiting for the right script to come along.

Her interest is supported by producer and director Mark Mori - who owns the rights to Page's story, which has previously interested Gangs Of New York film-maker Martin Scorsese.

He says, "Liv Tyler is still attached and she's more enthusiastic than ever. When I first met her, Liv told me, 'I was born to play Betty Page'. Right now, we're trying to develop a script. We may have some sort of announcement to make about a script very soon."

And even Page's official biographer is keen on the curvy Tyler.

He gushes, "The meaning and importance of Bettie's era doesn't have to be taught and spoon-fed to Liv Tyler - she knows it already."

No way in hell could Live Tyler ever come close to Bettie Page!Yes she is an attractive woman,but come on...Bettie Page,I don't think so!Try again people..Look for someone who looks some what close to her!

just readig this is making me furious. LIV TYLER?? what? they couldn't find anyone better suited out of millons of actresses? i'm sure a girl they picked off the street could do a better job."i always wanted to be bettie paige, blah blah blah." too bad you'll never come close on screen or off.

I know that people have their own opinion on who should play Bettie, and so far it sounds like everyone hates the fact that Liv may play her. Honestly, I feel like no one should play her or there shouldn't even be a movie for that matter. Why do they want to make a movie and corrupt her image with all the fake Hollywoodness!?!?! I hope they don't make a movie on her cuz' hollywood is most likely to "kill" it! Leave an Icon as herself alone. Don't sugarcoat her by making a flick, especially with Liv Tyler!

Liv Tyler does not resemble Betty Page in the least! At least try to get an actress who has Bettie's physical appearance. Dita von Teese is beautiful, but she resembles a young Joan Crawford more than Bettie Page.

I've heard Bettie was interested in having a movie done about herself several years back. It would interesting to know who she would like to play her.

Wow, everyone is  getting so riled up about this. Personally, in my opinion Liv Tyler is a fine choice to play Bettie Page. I do see a resemblence between them, the face, the dark hair, the body type (she might not have the cleavage, but that can be fixed with a bush-up bra)and Liv Tyler is a very good actress as far as I'm concerned (Inventing the Abbots, Stealing Beauty, Onegin, Heavy). I think she could do good and bring justice to the role, as long as they have a good script. Then again, this came out about a year ago, and there hasn't been any news about it since so maybe it won't even get made.

i agree that dita would be a much better choice than liv but it might be that dita doesnt want to play bettie in a movie
