"I just wanted to pass along to you some interesting tid-bits I learned about the fourth Jurassic Park movie (I'm a big fan) whilst visiting the Amblin offices. They were tight-lipped about the big details, but I managed to get some VERY cool goodies for you all:
12 years after the first movie, John Hammond's dinosaurs have apparently become urban legend. Most of the public has become skeptical they ever existed. Part of the plot involves the discovery of previously unidentified lizard-like animals showing up on mainland Costa Rica and conflicting with the locals (killing them?). To find out what the heck is going on, a team of experts chart an expedition to one of the off-shore islands. They find out the dinosaurs are thriving and breeding at an uncontrollable rate, so much so that it poses a threat to the nearby continent. They must find a way to curb the spread of the dinos or face an ecological disaster.
I want to make clear that is not the WHOLE story. There is apparently some top-secret aspect of the plot that they refused to even hint to me. They only said that Spielberg was "delighted" with it. In Michael Crichton's novel The Lost World it was discovered that the dinosaurs have been accidentally infected by a disease code-named DX by InGen. Expect this concept to be carried over to JPIV. They don't end up sending in the military to bomb the place, because in time, DX will prevent the dino's continued existence. This leads me to believe JPIV will probably be the last one.
Spielberg is indeed looking to get Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum back on board as part of the "team of experts." I asked eveyone I could if they knew of Richard Attenborough's involvement, but nobody knew "at this stage." I got the impression that everyone is feeling JPIV will turn out to be something quite special, more an intelligent thriller in the vein of the original (which would REALLY be cool!
There now, doesn't that sound like good wholesome fun for the whole family?

When I saw the original JP I always thought that the can full of DNA would play a part in the sequels. Anyway, as long as this movie his a better climax than JP3 then I'll be happy.

Well, when the original JP came out it was amazing because dinosaurs had never been recreated so well on film before. Now unfortunately, it's old news.

Why a part IV? Shouldn't it had been over by part III? I think it's awkward to have a part IV because there would be no point in continuing it further. When I read that article about it's plot so far, I said to myself, "What the ----? Another expedition to an island? Who would be stupid enough to go there again?" Knowing how Jurassic Park was in all three films, you'll expect people under attack by the dinosaurs. I am saying no to this next part in the frnachise. What we should really see though, is the dinosaurs finding their way back to the States (like the attack in San Diego by the Rex in Lost World) and see how the people would react to that. THAT's what I would go see.
Leave it to Michael Chricton to make another Jurassic Park sideplot in his novels, not a movie. Another JP sounds meaningless.

an old college buddy (who is a creative engineer at universal studios) has some friend who has to do with the creative process in making movie advertisement, Jurassic Park IV being his latest project. He told Cal that InGen creates a hybrid breed of dinosaurs that live for a couple months, just long enough to eliminate the other dinos on the other two islands. the US military gets reports and requests Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm, the two last living survivors from Isla Sorna, (this is 12 years after the third)to sit in the helicopter and give the Marines being sent to the island advice. The helicopter is attacked by pterodactyls and Grant and Ian are stranded with only two or three remaining Marines. It sounds like either Ian or Grant dies in this one, too, and early in the movie.i hope they get rid of the spinosaurus...that thing is freakin gay.

Yesterday I talked to James Cameron the (Co-Director or Producer)of the next Jurassic Park film.He told me that, he would ask Steven if he could direct the fifth film with help from Stan Winston (can that be)?And Steven's replie was,"Just as the third film,I will not direct the forth or fifth" (maybe)! The release date for Jurassic Park IV was June 18,2004 or 2005.So all of this year Steven and Cameron will be focusing on Jurassic Park IV!But all I know is Steven or Cameron may consider doing a Jurassic Park VI! More information coming in May 23,2003!So just relax for now!!!!!!!!!!!

I visited the Universal offices yesterday, June 11 at 3:30 p.m. My uncle works there. His coworkers boss said that he overheard Steven Speilberg talking to James Cameron about JP 4. They said it is gunna have all of the actors from the original JP!! And when I say all, I mean all. Even the kids that were in the first one, Tim and Lex. They said that the young boy, Tim, is now going to be grown up and he is studying to be a scientist. He remembers the island from when he is a young boy and in order to get a good grade on one of his science classes (cause he is failing) he wants to go back to the island and find some dinosaur remains. But much to his surprise, there are actual live dinosaurs there. Much like the child in part 3, this guy gets stuck there and John Hammond gathers a team to rescue his grandson. But when Dr. Grant, Ellie, and Ian Malcolm get there, they are in for a BIG surprise. Young Tim has learned how to control the dinosaurs!! Tim then lets the power get to his head, and some of the wrong people find out that he has this power. So these bad people influence him to use this power for bad and use him to try to attempt to take over the world. Then the rest of the story is just basically Dr. Grant and Ian Malcolm trying to stop the attempts of Tim and the dinosaurs from taking over the world.

hey dude,
you're full of sh*t! how can timmy be controlling the dinosaurs when i've read that he is in fact...DR.GRANT'S LONG LOST SON!!!
your sources are blatently wrong! i don't know where your getting ur info from but its obviously incorrect. however, it is correct that timmy is trying to get a good grade for one of his classes, BUT its not a science class. partfours.com claims its a modern dance class!
you've got to start researching your info more before you start posting sh*t up dude!

This guy saying stuff about visiting Universal Studios, cannot be telling the truth. Firstly, I imagine it to be extremely difficult to obtain any kind of information about an upcoming movie like that simply from a visit. He must also be lying based on the story he supposedly "heard". "Tim controlling the dinos"??? Yeah! Sure!
Come up with something better ass!

I think this sounds fantastic. I just hope it doesn't end up a hustled off piece of crap. Jurassic Park III was a bit dissapointing but not terrible, you could tell that not as much thought was put into it as the previous films.
They really should get Micheal Crighton back as the writer. I grew up with the Jurassic Park series, and when I was a little kid I thought it would be so cool if in the final chapter of the J.P. legacy that they destroy the dinosaurs. Also I think doing a 5th film would be a bit of a stretch. There's only so much you can do with a film series before you run out of ideas. So 4 should definitely be the finale.

first of all i think its bull $#it that they will end at just 4 jp movies its to big to end it by killing of the dinos. i think they should make movies out of the Mike Ciencen books. u know prey and flyers. And have a third island and have more dinos on it and every dino from the three movies. I dont know maybe ime just full of sh*t.

Actually, Steven Speilberg called me up last night and told me that the 4th Jurassic Park will have no dinosaurs at all. He told me that they are on a very low budget and it will be a Blair Witch type movie where they go around looking for dinosaurs the whole time, but you never really see any.

i have something to say to the retard that said- why another Jurassic park movie.
For one thing, if you didnt know, people live on Costa Rica.
i would also like to say- what the hell was with the 3rd movie, it was good and all, but it had nothing to do with the first 2 orginal plots. The only thing that made the movie interesting was the fact there was the Spniosaurus, and the fact that the Velociraptors were smarter.
i think the top ones better

okay children lets stop talking about cacks and pussys, and all that other stuff, to tell u the truth i like the story a little better on the top area first, it seems like jurassic park the book, and heres and idea, why dont they put the water fall sequence in the iv movie it would be ten times better than what u think, the theird movie sucked ass, it was horible, i did not like it at all, it made no sense, but i like the idea of bringing all the surivors in the first movie back into this movie, but more action needs to happen in this movie and i got the ideas for it, so if u want to know what they are then u can email me at Andreujp@yahoo.com, and ow by the way i am the biggest jp fan in the world....hahaha
Why Malcom?

Posted by A random shemp (No Email) on August 16, 2003 7:38 PM
I never thought Malcom great enough to even be the main brains behind the second one. Why all the talk about him in the fourth? There was a somewhat annoying dynamic between him and Dr. Grant, however some may've found it appealing. So far, the best two rumors/ideas I've heard are 1. Prequil Idea--focus on the hints (From JP1/2) to an earlier story that plays into the opening scene in JP1 with less emphasis and more mystery behind the horror of the velocirapters (anticipation and dread kills the audience). Besides, leave that scare element to the first three! and 2. The 12 years later scenario-- with Tim grown up studying under Billy to be a scientist, Lex has a role somehow (maybe a hook up with Eric? The love element goes far with other audiences). There definitely should be less emphasis on previous super-characters from the first. Of course, they can't be dumb enough to go back to the islands and it's idiotic to place them on the mainland...so where to put the dinosaurs? Whatever they do, I hope they don't paint up and overdo the dinosaurs. It's man vs. nature, not man vs. low-IQ Hollywood out-dos just for the sake of "Mr. I Don't like tu think much about nuddin." I'm concerned they're sacrificing the ingenuity and circumstantial adrenaline-rush the first one created and the 2/3 ones mimicked for the sake of milking the story line for what it's monetarily worth. Oh, and for peas-sake, no futuristic guns! I don't relate much to phazers.
BIOSYN...the first movie...

have any of u ever even seen the first movie. okm let me fill u in, in the first movie Ned was talking to someone(i forget the name)from BIOSYN at a restaurant when he was givin the container for the dino embryos in, the man said he needed the rest. now lets make sure u can hear me. THE REST. that means he( or BIOSYN) already had some.
so i think when he(that director guy) said that it would take place back on the(an) island,it would not be green, and they would not go back to the jungle, i think he was saying that it would take place in the desert, and my guess is that it will ahe something to do with BIOSYN creating dinos.
and for all u people who think Spielberg is going to direct the movie, he has already said he isn't.
