Weekend Top Ten Box Office Films

The top ten films for the weekend, according to studio estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations:

1.	Lord of the Rings	$16.1 million
2.	A Beautiful Mind	$15.8 million
3.	Orange County	$15.1 million
4.	Ocean's Eleven	$7.5 million
5.	Royal Tenenbaums	$6.4 million
6.	Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius	$5.5 million
7.	Vanilla Sky	$5.0 million
8.	Kate & Leopold	$5.0 million
9.	Gosford Park	$3.8 million
10.	Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone	$3.4 million

Okay, so LOTR took about 200-300 million to produce all three?  So from here on out...It's all profit.

Time to buy some more AOL Time Warner stock...

I suppose "Brotherhood of the Wolf" did not play in enough movie theatres to make the list, but it was still a solid movie.

I've got to make a mention about Royal Tenenbaums.. Wes Anderson is unarguably a genius. While I've been too busy to write a review; "Royal" was one of the best movies I've ever seen.

When your right, your right. As far as dry comedies go, the "Royal Tenenbaums" was hiliarious, the scenes when Hackman takes his Grandsons out is the most I've laughed in the theatre since "Quick Change", check it out.
