Some say it's a little over done on the CG and others complain that Tobey is not their choice to play our web-slinger hero. But, I think it's gonna rock!

I think that the movie looks really good but these are just the action sequences,(which usually tend to be the best parts.) I think that the story will hold but, they will find a way to botch it up...you know?

I happen to like the incredible wet t-shirt contest winner, Kirsten Dunst, in the trailer...

well, looks like it will be ok at least..
from the trailer all i could say is that my biggest nitpick [and i noticed this in the earlier trailers] is the quality of the cgi. they got the movement and detail down and the textures and models are perfect but the coloring and the lighting are horrible. it's highly obvious what's cgi and what's not. in other films, it's not as noticable as it is here. it takes the suspension of disbelief totally away. because what is supposed to not be noticed is thrust into your face.
it does lend a cartoon quality to a fantasy/sci-fi story and sam rami is known for his tounge and cheek style but this comes off as amatureish cgi and ruins the effect. at least for me.
mind you, this is all from a trailer and it may not be the final pass for the cgi also.
other than that, looks fairly good and should be a fun ride with what little i could get a sense from a trailer. [and you know the problem with trailers...]. at least a DVD rental.
the green goblin costume kinda sucks donkey dick but william defoe kicks mutha farking ass!
still waiting for the U.S. release of lord of the rings....
i am buying 2-3 tickets and am going to sit through every mattinee they have......

Very cool, and personally I think Tobey is perfect for the role.
Anybody else notice the Matrix theme music in the trailer? What's up with trailers re-using other movie's music?

As far as the weak cgi goes, if you'll recall the first trailer/teaser had poor cgi , but it was much less noticable in the theater. I am willing to save judgement on that part...however, Darkman had a comic book feel, and it wasn't the digital effects. It could be the cheese behind the scenes that brings out the 'off' quality intentionally. In my unsolicited opinion, leave the comicbook markers on the paper, it's a movie now.

difficult to say just how often it happens, but there seems to be about 10 pieces of music that are renowned for their 'suspensful' or 'awe-inspiring' qualities, and therefore get used, re-used and abused in the trailer industry. Add to that a trailers use of a certain piece of music that invariably NEVER surfaces in the movie itself...

I agree about the CGI not looking too realistic but its hard to say what looks real and what doesnt because spidey's abilities are so 'unreal'. I mean how do you know that thats not how a half-human half spider would look like doing all the hoop-la or what Green Goblin looks like in a armour suit and helmet flying around on a hover board? Even the mask Tobey takes off his face isnt real. Lets face it it aint no Final Fantasy cos the action scenes arent all motion captured which is harder for animators to make it look real. I think by the release date they would have refined the movie brilliantly and its going to blow the box office to bits. I mean, as if the title isnt enough to make this a number 1 hit.
I think the story will probably hold really well too, if its sticking to the original comic book classic storyline its already a hit.
I cant wait to see Harry Osborne (Norman's son) become the Hobgoblin in the sequel. He already looks pretty dodgey in the trailer.

i disagree...from my female perspective, Tobey is a little too wimpy looking (even for peter parker!)
why would you ever want to be rescued by a little twerp? women are supposed to wonder what's under the mask and costume...and I for one would be disappointed to find tobey...they may as well have cast leonardo dicaprio!

Treat her with respect. She's Mrs.Williams-Skullfire, and she's best whore than your momma, who begs for customers in downtown, while mine is in Hollywood. You're just jealous.
