I saw this movie yesterday at the premiere and I thought it was great. Well worth seeing, whether you've read the books or not.

It was a great movie. I especially loved the part where Ghandolf buggers little Frodo. Oh wait, that was Gay Lord of the Sphincters.

"All that is gold does not glitter, not all who wander are lost.
The old that are strong do not whither; deep roots are not reached by the frost."

Man I can't wait for this movie to be released in the states!!!!

Alright here it is the hottest characters in LOTR:
1. Frod is unreal, just absolutly gorgeos! Lick him up!
2. Gandolf: Old but still very, very sexy!
3. Samwise: Delicious
4. Strider: He's Sassy and scruffy, what I've been looking for all my life!
5. The Orcs, God I wish a few of them would just tie me up and tickle me all over but mostly on my genitals. You guys know what I'm saying!!

I don't think you did read the books, two words: TOM BOMBADIL! Where was he? Also, Rivendell. in the books, it was the coolest place ever! in the movie: uh... its a place... with elves. yeah. well I think the movie was straying from the books way too much, almost as if the drector said this: uh.. well, that's okay, but why don't we have Merry and Pippen bump into them while raiding Maggot's farm? Sorry, I hated the movie I'll bet Tolkein is rolling in hs grave. "NOOO! you sick b*stards! you're butchering my story!

even Muhammed Ali will crumble to the might f Gandalf. Or even Frodo, Or even Tom Bombadil, or The fog on the Barrow downs. Look at Ali, he's all twitchy and shaky. You don't even have to put a quarter in him.

I agree, the movie was awesome. Every scene and view was beutifully and carefully designed. I am glad Jackson didn't make the mistake (as in Harry Potter) and compulsively tried to adapt each and every event from the book.
Splendid and brilliant !!!!!! Dennis

True that the movie doesnt have every single part of the book accounted for,but still its the sh*t. But if you dont read the books then dont bother posting.

One of the most boring, uninspired, dumbed-down pieces of drek I've seen in a long time. In fairness, I didn't stay for the whole movie. I walked out after 90 minutes because I couldn't stand it anymore. I'd say the movie was like watching grass grow but that would be vastly more interesting.

Hey, ive read this book since i was 14. Eventhough there are a lot of things skipped out, but hey, i'm sure we have better things to do than to watch an 8hr movie. This film is magnificently majestic.

Since you were 13 is the big geek giveaway. Maybe it's time to read a different book?
Do you ever wonder why the other guy always gets the girl?
Unless you are a girl, which is unlikely.

your an idiot, tom whats-the-name wasn't put in because the movie was already 3 hours long, he didn't add to the plot, and if there was 1 part to be taken out, it was that part.

Well have you ever heard of a door because you did not have to sit it there if you did not want to. It does not ask you about you it asks what you thought of the movie and you must of been on something because it was an excellent movie. So why don't you get your head out of your ass and stop posting messages that you don't even know anything about.

man, the only people that don't like LOTR are people that don't understand it. it does take quite a bit of intelligence to comprehend such complex ideas

If u are not intelligent you should not watch a very long movie about a "fantasy epic" book which you would never even be caught dead reading in the first place. Nobody blames you if you are stupid, but dont go around making fun of something you dont understand. I bet you would give a bad review to the godfather...

Get a life and join the real world. It's just entertainment. If you think you can do better justice putting this awesome series to life for viewing pleasure. That's it, viewing pleasure, for the people with the guts to use their imaginations, then get to it. This is the first effort to do justice for these stories, don't ruin it with your narrow mind. It's enterainment, buddy and entertainment sells.

You may think Tolkein is rolling in his grave, but I think he is giving the thumbs up and saying what a great effort. The books are complex and beautiful, if you wanted everything from the book in the movie it would have been over 4 hours long and that doesn't sell to the public. I think what they cut out was for the best. Broaden your mind and shut out the narrow. It was a great movie and did justice for the first effort from someone who reads this book at least twice a year since he was 16. If you felt you could do better, where is your effort? Get a life

You want the last three hours of your life back? WHAT LIFE?
Listen to me you single minded little fuckwit, do you REALISE how much time went into;
A.) the books
B.) the movies?
Firstly, it took Tolkien TWENTY years to write the books, so stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it.
Secondly, you're probably just jealous that you yourself couldn't possibly HOPE to understand the complexities of what this story is about, so shut up and find some other subject to groan about - might I suggest, for starters, YOUR LIFE!
