I saw "Behind Enemy Lines" over the weekend and regardless of awful previews it was really very good. The music was good, the cast was refreshingly unknown except for a few guys, the fx were great, and by the end of the movie, the theatre was chanting U.S.A.!. The movie is based on a true story, and is full of action.

Chanting USA... how gay and lame is that!  Exactly the reason why I won't see it!

When I went to see Indepedence Day a couple of years back I remember people in the theatre shouting out things like "Go Will Smith! You the man!" and "USA! USA!". To be honest, I thought it was all a bit lame.

And their shouting out was annoying too.

It does not surprise me that a member of the Taliban does not like patriotic Americans howling during a feature movie, showing their pride. I'm sure you and your terrorist buddies are too busy humping each other's legs anyway, to notice the frustration that is mounting my country everytime one of you cok sucking cowards burns Old Glory. I for one don't give a rats ass what this Taliban Random Shemp Mofo thinks of vocal patriotism during a true story motion picture, but I'm sure a few anti American pieces of dung will back him up ( DYAN ) regardless. Bring it on.

100% American is 100% an a--hole. To hell with the USA, and their "mounting frustrations". They should not be allowed to stand up and cheer during a motion picture celebrating their countries victories. We here in Canada applaud the Taliban Shemps for telling it like it is!

I just came back from "Mulholland Drive."  I dub it obscure, but seriously f*cked up.  I may not be right for days.  I currently have Jewel and Enya looping on the CD in a feeble attempt to shore up my mental equilibrium.  Absolutely loved it.  Great cinemagraphic moments, great music, excellent acting, plot line that indicates long-term and possibly terminal drug usage, and, as a bonus feature, multiple hot lesbian love scenes.

It's not the first time someone has bashed the USA on this site, as you can see there are a lot of Anti-Americans and folks that dislike me in general. The thing they all share in common is not one of them is a registered user, nor is a single e-mail address printed. Typical. These posters are just like all the countries of the world that we save from rape, genocide, and plauge. At first they say "thanks USA", and ten minutes later they are burning "Old Glory" and blaming all their problems (laziness) on us. You are cowards and you prove it time and again by not registering and hiding behind your rock. It's depressing, but all an American can do is laugh. We are laughing at you right now.

Hey 100% American, I do have a registered user and e-mail. I'm from Argentina, a country you never saved, thank goodness.
For your knowledge, all the countries that USA has invaded in the past, not a single one asked you to do it. Besides, how do you justify the critics from your own people? I remember a lot of Hollywood movies showing all the bad actions your country has taken against others and, what is worst, U.S. citizens too. And I'm sorry also, that nor my english is so good, nor you don't know spanish so we could be having a fine talking about world's politics, expressing my real opinions so you can understand what I'm really trying to say.

Yes, too bad, however I was not refering to you Skullfire. I did not see a post made by you degrading my country or myself. Tell me if I'm wrong. Much of the world disagrees with a common philosify here in the U.S. :Tyranny must be destroyed. If a country or an individual were to disagree with that modo, then of course we would be viewed as "The Great Satan" or whatever.

That's funny Skullfire. In 1993 when there was a Small Pox outbreak in the Phillipines, they were begging us to save they're asses, and we did. I was among a 550 man unit that treated 10 different closed sites with our vaccine, and of course saved them all and perhaps millions more in the process. Yeah, no one ever asks us, wake up.

RE: The Meek & Foolish   > reply

Posted by Skullfire (hulacete@ubbi.com) on December 10, 2001 10:58 PM

First of all, to Ty Quinn: I hope you're smart enough to see the difference between a humanitarian action, such as stop a decease, and a political intervention, like an invasion to a country that has other values and culture than yours, just because you think they are the "incarnation of evil" or something. I'm talking about, but not only, the Afghanistan war. One thing is try to get Osama, other is bomb a village with a bunch of shepherds who hadn't a f*ckING idea where the World Trade Center is (and I'm not saying "was" because probably they still can't figure it out, being dead and all that).

Second, to 100% Anerican: I guess the only comment I made against your country was that I hate when you use the word "America" just for yourselves. I'm from Argentina, in the continent of America too, so I think of myself as american. If you classify me as south american, then you are north american, not only american, like canadians or mexicans.
And about the destruction of tyranny, I agree, but it has to be by the same people that is opressed by that government, so they could have independent thinking and fight for themselves. Otherwise, it's a country of cowards.
Besides, that doesn't allow you either to desestabilize some regimes called "communists" or "reds" with non direct actions; I have a close example to me, Chile, when crimes against mankind where commited by the same ruler USA helped to take control of the country. ?Remember Costa Gavras'movie, "Missing", with the late (God, how do I love that man's films with Walther Matthau) Jack Lemmon?

I thought that this site was about up and coming movies. Besides, if I don't want to sign on as a particular name then why is there a problem with that? I mean most people put up fake E-mail adresses anyway and the reason why I wouldn't want to put mine up here is because I don't really want to get E-mails from anyone on this site. No offence but that's just how I feel. Why don't we just talk about movies?

RE: The Meek & Foolish   > reply

Posted by 100% AMERICAN (hellskitchen_@hotmail.com) on December 13, 2001 7:37 AM

Thats an interesting opinion you have Skullfire.

1. The USA is called Americans, I do not know why, if you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you.

2.  Opinions vary, when the USA is begged by those being raped or poisoned, and no one else will help, then we get involved. Pleas are studied on a daily basis, and we receive thousands all over the world on an hourly basis.

3. That herder would still be alive if the Taliban had not harboured Bin Laden and refused to hand him over. While his death is tragic, it is also for the greater good. Had Bin Laden been left alone (such as in 93, after he slaughtered our Marines) he would have murdered thousands more innocents. Perhaps one day war will be exact.

RE: The Meek & Foolish   > reply

Posted by Skullfire (hulacete@ubbi.com) on December 13, 2001 2:51 PM

In a democracy, my reply:

1) I think the name United States of America lacks of accuracy. I know
that when your Independence Statement there was no other free country in the continent, so your Fathers felt free to call them like that.
But what about the other states who doesn't want to join yours? Aren't they America? I'll give you a better use: Brazil is really U.S.B, which is fair because it was the union of states all over the territory called Brazil.

2) The request for help has to be from lots of people, or their governments. I don't think that those letters or e-mails represents the true opinion of the hole country, his population.

3)Please don't tell me that you believe that those poor shepherds were guilty of that. Talibans are a minority in the country. There's no moral justification for the idea of killing innocents to get the worst criminal ever, unless you're The Punisher. War will never be exact, always suffer the ones who doesn't deserve it.

PS: about the support for Bin Laden, read my topic of today in the room about Osama's death in TV.

RE: The Meek & Foolish   > reply

Posted by 100% AMERICAN (hellskitchen_@hotmail.com) on December 18, 2001 8:01 AM

2. The requests for help are usually from thousands of women who are being raped on a daily basis because some religion or creed belives its just or proper. Requests come from single people as well as entire provinces mostly under a dictatorship or war like circumstances. We won't sit back and watch as people are tortured. Period.

3. I agree with you, however, you must accept that the blame for those deaths is not squarely on the shoulders of the U.S., we gave the Taliban more than enough time to hand over Bin Laden. If they had done so, there would not have been any killings.

I agree with you that any innocent dying is horrendus, but because we do not get involved, innocents are slaughtered on a grand scale everyday!

RE: The Meek & Foolish   > reply

Posted by Skullfire (hulacete@ubbi.com) on December 18, 2001 12:29 PM

HISTORY sets the period, not one of us.
Woman being raped? It happens everywhere, even in your country, and not because religious reasons only. There is a big difference between sitting back and an invasion; use your resources in not direct way, because if you go straight ahead like a hurricane, you will torn appart everything in your way, including innocents and the raped woman.

Your government already knows that the Taliban wasn't going to give Bin Laden to USA; instead of the threat, you should have taken him by yourselves. Anyway, what happens (and it did) is that you destroy people who hadn't any idea where he is. Remember a village with 200 population and hundreds of sheeps? Only ashes there, with a sheperd crying over his wife and his five children's body, saying "We don't have Osama". Looks like some torture for that man too, even worst that under the Taliban.
Also, it doesn't look like a properly action of the so-called home of the brave or land of the free; it's a bully's attitude, a payback of the WTC wound, showing the world that still you could kill who you want.

How about the innocents suffering in the USA? First of all, you should take care of your own issues, then help people out of your borders. Unless, of course, you don't have unemployment, AIDS, jails full of people out of the capitalism without any other escape than delinquency, hunger, families on the street, etcetera. Part of your country is dying, but you (I mean your government) choose to help the outsiders. For instance: there are so many factories with US capitals around the world because it's cheaper, with the consequence of unemployment in your country, and the economic opression in the foreign countries, forcing their governments to carry on politics against his own population, just because they deseperately need the investments; also, doesn't allow the local industries to develope by themselves, without the "advantages" given to US capitals (goes for Europeans too).
Besides, how could you let the fate of the world in the hands of people that doesn't know everything about it? I remember a survey between US citizen that shows only 10% of knowledge about other countries; for example, Don King (yes, he's an ass, but with money and power, ang gives an idea) says once "Buenos Aires, yeah, the DC of Rio de Janeiro".
We have a common frase in spanish (excuse me if already has a correct translation) which means "the well-undertand charity begins by home". I suggest you watch carefully the movie Bullworth again, it shows some interesting things (besides, of course, Halle Berry).

We try to solve our problems everyday. But come on "Go in and take Bin Laden", tell me your not that niaive. The point is, we gave them the choice, they decided to fight knowing full well the consequeces. (Apparently they did not take them very seriously) We may be the most powerful country on the planet but that does not make us omnipotent. We tried to get this terrorist many times, and if he was not protected by the counties that fund these terrorist groups we'd probably have him by now. I hear a lot of the time people saying "What gives the U.S. the right to go after any of these groups. In plain terms, if we or our allies suffer from their hands, then we'll go after them. Countries that disagree simply need to even out their financial differences, as to make them even with our own, like China has done.

You seem to like sharing your opinions on how my country should handle our problems, but since the U.S.A. is made up of all races of people the world over, we see it as, our borders are not limited to countries or states, but the planet as a whole. Forgive my spelling errors, but I'm at work and must type as fast as I can, as to not get caught.

Please allow me to get involved in this conversation. 100%, I agree with you a bit, but what you don't realize is that either Skull Fire does not realize the attrocities that go on in the world, or he lives in a peaceful place. The acts of rape in which you speak are not random crimes like here in the U.S., they are soldiers entering towns and beating and raping every female they come accross from the very eldery to teenagers, and if that does not make one weep, then you should witness first hand the slaughter and torture that so many dictators the world over subject perfectly innocent people to on a daily basis. The murder of little kids, stealing children away from their parents a hundred at a time, enslaving others based on nothing but a creed. I have seen all these things first hand, and though these people don't really ask the US to save them, they do pray to a God to save them every single hour of every single day.

Skull Fire, I ask you this: IF you had the power to stop attrocities anywhere in the world, would you do it? Here in the U.S. it is very difficult to be humane and watch on the news or witness firsthand anyone, anywhere being hurt or killed. It is much more than our responsability to get involved, even if its not our "region", and it is a sin if others do not try to help as well. God Bless America & God Bless the NYFD, station #11.

I live in Argentina, and PLEASE don't try to help us. Who named yourselves saviors of the world? God?
And the world is a hell, sometimes with the assistance of US too. Like your soldiers never commited any crimes? Or is it they are justified because they are on the "good" side? People pray to the Lord, not to USA. If you believe so, you are so fanatic like Osama, thinking the rest are evil.
Both borders are wrong, and dangerous for people in the middle. Besides, you talk like you don't have your own problems, or like US never caused in foreign countries.
If I had the power, first would try to rebuilt a country, not over the beliefs of the powerful people, whose interests are always against the nation, but over the unemployed, the poors, all of those who doesn't get richer with the disgrace of the majority.
Your speech of help sounds like arrogance, not the humble of the greatest. I could give you many examples (maybe not much as your "enemies") of US screwing other countries.
About the WTC, I suppose you know Osama was a monster once protected by your government. That's another big mistake: like that law from Carter forbids to assasinate "dangerous" elements on another country, you (I mean USA) create them to control by yourselves, but then they turn over the hand that feed them. Remember "The Siege" with Denzel Washington, Annette Benning and Bruce Willis. Instead of that, you should let every population in the world rise by himself; if that happens, you get in the middle because is dangerous for some "dark" interests that those countries could develope and "threat" your power. Truth is, the rest of the world consider you as bullys.
And that's not only my oppinion, even in this same site others have said something like that.

WHO IS GOD? and movies are silly. If tomorrow your mother, sisters, grandmother and girlfreind are brutalized and abducted, and you ( I mean your goverment) cannot do anything about it, will you A. Do nothing. B. Pray to a mythological being  C. Ask someone else for help.

Skullfire, you keep avoiding the topic. YES, we have done evil many times, BUT, we have done much, much more good. We have saved the world many times (remember the Nazis). Perhaps Argentina is without terrorism, without warlords, without kiddnapping, wihout genocide, then you are lucky. Africa as we speak is in the throwes of Genocide and major holocaust, but no one does anything. Do you think that's right?  Does someone need permisson from a make believe being to help these poor people?  According to you, they do. I wonder if they agree with you?

What your government makes you believe always is something different from what they really do. USA try to protect their economic or politic interests, in the name of the good of the mankind. CNN show you the troops, when the real deal happen in a fancy room, without our control or knowledge. ?Remember the phrase from French Revolution, "Freedom, how many crimes are commited in your name". That is really scary.
I would choose option D: free my people by myself and my fellow argentinians. If you watch the international news, that's what happens last days.
While someone believes in the Nation, others have faith in God. Even some people in your country. And about that you've done more good than evil, try to explain to the ones dead because of your "mistakes". Instead of invade everyone, use your resources wisely; nuke'em is not a solution.
But this is a discussion that won't be solved, because all of you were raised in another culture with another values, so we can't fully agree. What I really thank to USA is to sustain the possibility of exchange opinions, like the scum bag up there.

You watch too many movies kid. If you want to see whats going on out there then either join a military, a red cross squad or do some real traveling. I serve in the US Military, and have seen firsthand the horrors a great deal of the worlds population live in. They pray to god everyday for relief from their living hell, but he/she never answers them. Perhaps a hero will step forward and risk themselves to help these people, or perhaqps and most probably every country will turn a blind eye to their suffering, and they will continue to wallow in sh!t. Well, I'll tell you what, we'll wait another year as these people are burned, beaten, abducted, tortured, severed, and raped, and perhaps in a years time some country out there: perhaps China, Argentina, Austrailia, Canada, Mexico, Israel, or someone will step up with the guts, and conviction to do what "god" should have done if he/she existed, and end the tyrany!

Well Skullfire, if in a years time one of these countries still hasn't tried to help those in desperate need of aid, and God still hasn't done sh!t, then the United States of America will. If we didn't we'd be just as bad, just as evil as the people doing the bullying, and the other countries that don't have the balls to make a difference. Now if you'll excuse me, I nned to get back to work, I work a 17 hour day, 6 days a week, such is required if a country is to help so many, so very, very many.

We've never "Nuked Anyone " before. How many African refugees with amputated limbs do you know Skull?

I have a center here in New York, and we try to help these people get aquainted with synthetic limbs that we (the USA) supply them. They are also trying to recover from the anguish of that time when terrorists loped off their arms and legs with machettes, eventually they will return to Africa and try to continue life as best they can. While the U.S. tries to combat terrorism here in the USA and in the middle east, howabout Argentina helps the victims in Africa, or are you too busy watching movies?

Regardless of where one lives, one cannot call themselves "just" if they do nothing.

That was probably the dumbest thing ever written on this site. Human race, that ripping on all of us you retard!

I've traveled the world and have good friends in most countries I've been to, unlike you coward they are kind, not pussies that throw insults from behind stones, in a way you are just like the terrorists we are so easily beating the sh*t out of, eventually we will get them all, which I'm sure upsets you very much.

I would help everyone if I believe that I'm God, but I'm not, and also isn't USA. And we can't help anybody because as you can see, we got our own troubles, like every country has. The difference is that USA helps first people of other countries than his locals; besides, who can tell that those inhuman governments were supported by the US without everybody's knowledge. Like they never hide something from their own people.
?Columbia? Then speak in spanish, because I understand the language, and you're specially talking to me.
