Must say, I'm a little confused. Why is he wearing armor?
Why even call him the Green Goblin, he certainly does not look like a goblin, at least as far as Joan Rivers goes.

AllI ever hear on this website is people bitching and moaning about how crappy everything is. Why not wait until the movie comes out to make your judgements? At first everone thought it would be horrible casting Michael Keaton as Batman, but if you look at it now he was the best one there was, and in my opinion, the best there will ever be. So, why not sit back and shutup for a little while and wait until the movie comes out?

OK, I agree with the part about a reservation of judgement until you actually see the film, but only because I'm a Spidey fan and an optimist. However, saying Keaton was the best Batman is like saying "Gee, that's the nicest kick in the nuts ever". It's not exactly a high standard to be held to.

The costume looks much better live and in motion. Still images don't really do it justice.
Yes, I saw it. I was working on the shoot.

I thought that the whole point of casting William Dafoe was because he actually LOOKS like a goblin, even with no make-up.

How bad is that trailer? The only saving thought is that Sam Raimi is on board but again it could be a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. Why try to reinvent and change characters/story that have worked for decades?

Question: When Spidey's out battling crime and he needs to take a p*ss, what does he do? I mean does he have some kind of hidden zipper or what?

Who said the movie was crappy? I thought everybody was bagging on the pre-teen monster costume and the poster. There will be plenty of feedback about how the movie was ruined by the b-rate director after it opens next summer.
I like the fandangled rocketboard he's riding on though.

FYI - from the "Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe":
"Bullet-proof mail with overlapping tunic cap and mask." So he does have some sort of armour under his tunic, even though it is chain mail and not that elaborate.
But I agree with some of you, he still looks like a power ranger.

Uhm, he's not trying to reinvent and change characters/stories that have worked for decades. He's keeping it completely true to the comic books, cause he's been a fan all his life. The characters, stories, costumes (with the obvious exception of the goblin, minus the face on the helmet; and also the biological webs) and everything remain entirely true to the comic. That's why they put Sam Raimi on board, cause they wanted someone who would stick to the books so there would be no fan uprising. And that's what Raimi's been trying to do as much as possible. Read "Wizard."

We must try to reserve our judgement, for it is only with a clear knowledge of what we discuss that the most valied points can be made.

I fully agree with all the Power Ranger comments. Let's hope this is all teaser for a movie with much cooler costumes, in the same way the X-Men people wisely did away with the yellow and put in the black. Let's face it--all the cool superheroes in movies have to wear black, from Batman on.

Goblin needs all that heavy armor because if the same guys who designed it are the same who made his plane, he's gonna crash worst than any terrorist attack.
Sorry for the bad taste joke.

Are you people who are commenting on this stupid. the green goblin was a creature made by tecknology. if they were to make him like he looks like in the comic books and tv shows he would look a hole lot like the mask. I admit the metalic look is a bit funny but id like to see you draw depth with out it in a 3 deminsonal figure.

If spider-man can 'do whatever a spider can' then does that mean things like crawling in your mouth while you're asleep, or getting washed down the plug hole?

I read just about all the comments about this poster and I have to say, it was a huge let down. I've loved spider man for years, I really hope the movie does justice for such a great character, although it doesn't look real promising.

If you've seen the previews in the Spiderman Network, you'll be disappointed by the Goblin, not by Spidey.

The geen goblin's only going to be in the movie, looking like he doews in the poster, in the last part of the movie. Even if he is completely crap I don't think it'll ruin the whole movie.

As a spidey fan I am disappointed with the green Goblin. Im sure it will look a lot better when animated but in the comic he wears an orange cloak and hood. He looks like a medievel goblin as he should. He doesnt have all this shiny armor sh*t and hes head is not so big. It does look like a power ranger with green armor and an evil helmet. Thats disappointing cos you would think after the first couple of spiderman movies in the early 80's or late 70's that were really crap, you would hope they wouldnt try to change too much of the comic cos its the only SpiderMan that ever worked. (Except maybe for the cartoon series). But I think this motion picture is already starting to look a little too cartoony and not as scary as the comic potrayed some of the characters. f*cking Hollywood!! They are just the best at f*cking a good thing up! I think Dafoe's face would be good for the goblin, they dont have to CG evrything. With the standard of CG cinema today they can definitely do a lot better than what they have let us preview. The goblin is too square not rounded and scaly like he should be. I hope they add the cloak in at least.

The Hobgoblin was the orange one, dude. This is green, as in Green Goblin.
And yes, I looks like sh*t in his armor.
Exactly, which cartoon do you mean? The one from the sixties, the one in the early eighties with Iceman and Firestar, the long run from 1994 to 1997, or the last in the other earth of 1999?
