That's the whole point of Spider-Man, Peter Parker is a geek and a shrimp, he gets bitten and gets spider powers, not muscled up. When he gets the powers he uses them to get the fame and popularity he was denied as he grew up. His selfishness results in his uncle's death. Hence the whole "with great power comes great responsibility" thing. Geez, have you guys ever read the comics, oh wait I forgot, most of you probably haven't entered puberty yet and wouldn't know your web shooter from your utility belt. Do your homework before you post comments.
By the way this movie's gonna rock.

I'm not saying it should be swartzenegger or anything...just an actor with a little more charisma and presence....i can't see toby macguire pullin off the wise-cracking part of the role....and for the record...i have read the comics...I assumed anyone reading stuff on this web-site would have...I am questioning the hollywood choice for the role...george clooney sucked as batman too...i would rather have seen chris o'donnell play spidey than robin...

You're right, Hollywood has made some casting boo-boo's (Clooney a big one as Batman) and I was a little put off by Toby as Spider-Man at first. But I'll give the guy a chance, it seems that he can at least act better than O'Donnel. It could have been worse, they could have cast Loenardo De-crap-rio as our favorite wall crawler.

here it is...
Cage Will Play Constantine
icolas Cage will at long last take to the big-screen as a comic-book character, but not as Superman or Ghost Rider. According to online reports, after both Superman and Ghost Rider fell through, Cage has decided to play the title role of John Constantine in the big screen version of the DC Comic Hellblazer.
Tarsem, who most recently directed Jennifer Lopez in The Cell, will helm the Warner Bros. project. The supernatural story involves a man, Constantine, who uses his unique powers to neutralize situations that threaten everyone and everything on Earth. Cage, of course, took his stage name from a comic book character: Marvel's Luke Cage, better known as Power Man.
Hellblazer will commence production on March 1, 2002.

Yes,I can see that, it makes sense. Luke Cage a.k.a. Power Man, the afro wearing, jive talking, muscle head, was the inspiration for the name of Nick Cage, the Olive Oil muscled, Elvis fan...sure, why not?

For those who didn't know, Nic Cage was going to play Superman in Kevin Smith's 'Superman Lives' sceenplay. Has anyone else read that script? I actually thought it was pretty good- apart from that L-Ron robot.

Spidey:
The bad taste in your mouth comes from blowing one of your other comic book reading dweeb pals, not a future release.

Cage was recently casted to play Cleo in the 2003 release of Dr. Strange. Also starring will be Emanuel Lewis as Strange, Corey Feldman as Wong, and Corey Haim as the Mephisto. Your mama.

I personally watch movies and make my own decisions about them, I don't take what other people say about something and reagrd that as fact I am able to decide for myself. I am an adult and I have my own opinions and interpretations of movies.

I thought that after "The Lost Boys," the two Coreys made so many bad B movies that, in a fit of pity and compassion, their agent put them both out of their (and our) misery.

I think that Spiderman will be a good movie, spiderman 2 will be darker than the first one and some people will dislike it because of this, spiderman 3 will appeal more to a younger audience and will be good in it's own right but fans of the orginal will feel let down. Spiderman 4 on the other hand will be totally crap, resorting to gratuitous shots of spiderman and his side-kicks asses as they prance around trying to stop the villian from freezing the city.

The Spiderman poster has many redeeming qualities that sugest that the movie as a whole could be very enjoyable. If you notice the high angle shot coupled with the sense of vertigo that it posseses whilst simultaniously conveying a certain mystery to it you will agree that as far as symbolic expressionism goes the result of the categorisation of the movie by critics of the poster is an example of its cross-over into different styles of film. Further more, if we take into account the fact that the poster is constructed through the judicial use of existing images and conventions that have already been mediated through film or in other related forms we can understand the movie through our experiences and comparisons with other films or media products. These in turn assure the poster its authenticity and overall coolness.

The forum says "Comment", not lawyer's defense argument.
But if that's the tone, here it goes:
Hope you know spanish, because there's no way I'm gonna translate that.
