Steven Soderbergh (Traffic) will direct Solaris, a remake of the 1972 Russian science fiction classic based on the novel by Stanislaw Lem of the same name, according to a report from Variety. Solaris will be the first project of Soderbergh's new directors' company.
Fox and James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment had originally intended to remake the movie, but now it appears that Soderbergh will be taking charge. The director is also writing the script. Fox would likely take foreign distribution rights on the picture, with USA Films handling domestic distribution if a deal is struck between USA and Soderbergh's company.
As for the story itself, Solaris is about a mission to rescue scientists on a space station bedeviled by mysterious visions.

"Space station bedeviled by visions." Saw it already. It's called Event Horizon

Lem's novel "Solaris" is much cooler than "Event Horizon". While "Event Horizon" had Satan, "Solaris" has sexual fantasies with dirty socks! (not kidding).
I've beeen looking forward to the movie remake for years. I'm surprised Soderberg is going to tackle Sci-Fi.

The trailer you're refering to is fake, made up by someone using footage from other movies. It's actually not that hard to do if you've got the right software.

If anyone's interested, I found a website that 'apparently' has the full stories of both Starwars episode II & III. I don't know whether they are true or not but they are pretty good none-the-less.

I'm really curious what the Solaris remake will look like but I think that it nearly impossible that someone else can play Harey as convincing as Natalya Bondarchuk.
