(EMPIRE) It looks like Jackie Chan, who is already starting to finally make it big in Hollywood, is making a big splash in Canada as well. Toronto mayor Mel Lastman is set to declare November 18 Jackie Chan day and also award the chop-socky maestro with the key to the city.
It?s all part of a series of events set to raise money for sick children and geriatric care. Jackie, who gurned for the cameras while hugging a model of the C N Tower, told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday, "Don?t think of it as a show, think of it as a party".
The event includes a charity event featuring outtakes of Jackie?s films as well as live stunts and a fashion show.
Meanwhile, another Jackie Chan project, Nosebleed, has entered redevelopment following last month?s terrorist attacks on New York. The film was set to feature Chan as a window cleaner at the World Trade Centre who battles terrorists plotting to blow up the Statue of Liberty.

"Nosebleed" actually sounded like an interesting premise. Naturally, that---and the terroist attacks--- would have prevented it from being made anyway.

This new breed of censorship goes against everything the states represents...freedom of speech, etc...what hypocrisy...if things in these movies were in really bad taste, I could understand...but to take even scenery shots of the twin towers out...ludicrous..
whatever gets censored out of hollywood productions isn't even remotely bad compared to the poor taste stuff that gets posted ont the net anyway....

Haven't we heard this enough?
This always ends with someone saying that the idea is more about letting the movie entertain and not wanting to upset people that lost someone? I don't think anyone wants to censor or hide anything but rather they want to be respectful given what has happened there.
So there, I said it.

Who's ya daddy? Is he big, is he big like me?
Seriously, though, what's up Canooks? "Think of it as a party"? In what way is Jackie Chan related to geriatric fund raising? This whole thread spells made up and someone is laughing out their butt if we swallow this story.
