Spidey fans were disappointed when the first movie trailer was recalled due to the footage of the World Trade Center. The trailer has been recut and redone, its aim to be more politically correct.

I agree, We can not shut our eyes just because it hurts. The W.T.C. has been part of the New York skyline for a long time. Now it's part of our history. Least we forget Sept. 11th 2001

If anything, I not only agree that the W.T.C should stay in the media but in this day in age in order to fight the unknown we should embrace more than ever our fallen Icon seen to all as a symbol of america. We should see the twin towers now as the symbol of our unity and display proudly our sorrow for this atrocity.

The media is just plain silly. Night after night we are shown images of the towers being destroyed on the evening news, as if we've forgotton, yet the admittedly fictional branch of the media tries to pretend as if the towers were never there. No wonder we're so schitzo.

well, the scene wasn't even in the movie. it was just in the trailer. so i don't see the big deal JUST on this one.
some of the things being changed are really stupid but changing just a trailer aint nothing to yell about.
better things than this being changed to be offended by...
oh, by the way, did ya know jackie chan was supposed to shoot a scene that same morning
(sept 11th)but didn't cause a script writer was late delivering a script?
read it on urban legends. it's true...

The terrorists also crashed airplanes, will they also remove those from upcoming movies? It is now a fact of American life that we are under attack, it is unknown what else may be targeted. How will they decide what to keep and what gets cut?

THE SCENE THEY REMOVED WAS MADE FOR THE TRAILER ONLY!

Guys... over 5000 people died and they thought it would be insensitive to show the towers on the promo... and all you geeks can care about is the Spiderman promo??!!!
"Get a life" William Shatner
"I've wasted my life" The comicbook guy on the Simpsons
Flame away nerds... but just imagine that your wife is lying dead and rotting under that rubble and some moron is online bitching that they should ignore that because it would ruin a 30 second commerical.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned that the trailer is a commercial & what the seller wants is for viewers to remember what they're selling. In the aftermath of the attacks the first trailer - which was pretty clever, actually - would have had all of us walking away from it thinking about the WTC and not "Wow, I can't wait to see Spiderman." Whether it's been changed out of respect or not, it's just plain marketing.

Well, here's an argument that no one has concidered, the Spider-Man movie is supposed to be set in New York in 2002. Seeing how the towers were destroyed this year they'd have to take it out of the movie. So taking the WTC out of the trailer is really a continuity issue.
We've all suffered some shell shock from what happened, so if people are being a little over sensitive at the moment it's understandable. Give it time and we'll all go back to normal. I'm sure that when this all settles we'll see movies showing the WTC in all thier glory, but for now lets try to be a little more understanding of the unfortunate people who lost loved ones in this and maybe can't look at too many reminders of that right now, I'm sure the have enough to deal with. With or without the WTC the Spider-Man movie is gonna rock.

well good point except that the movie ISN'T set in new york...
it's set in a fictitious big city...
always was...
no continuity issues.....
that's why the wtc isn't nor ever was in the movie, just the original trailer where spidey traps a copter in a web between the towers...
the scene or the new york skyline never shows in the movie...

I don't think it is so much that everyone is mad about "ruining the trailor". More so that it is just plain silly to cut a shot of the towers out because it is "sensitive". Well, ya it is, but what about all the news coverage and so on. Personally I would rather view the towers in their prime than a heap of rubble. Shots of the towers is now part of our history not unlike many many other images of things that no longer exist. We should not be destroying or booing these images, rather celebrating them and our past achievements instead. That's my two cents for what it is worth.

I totally agree! It is a tribute to leave the scene in the movie. I think they are stupid for removing it. What is so incorrect about showing a national landmark which is now gone? I see no reason to remove the wtc scene.

Amen. I do think that the WTC scene in the trailor was quite stunning in design, but I am not upset in the least that it was removed. Again, like many have said in this childish bickering on some message board, this was just the trailor. The movie has not been altered by any means. Relax children, you will still see spiderman spittin' webs and catching the badguys all through-out the movie. Grow up and respect those who are now apart of US history and forget that your precious movie isn't THAT important.

Ok, i agree that taking out the trailer bit was probably best for all concerned, but exterminating it from the face of the earth!?! We realized what happened, but those die-hard fans who won't mind should still be able to see the trailer. Isn't there a place anywhere that the trailer can be seen? I've looked around quite a bit on the internet with no success.

The WTC Spidey Trailer is available on Morpheus, for you DIE HARD fans. It is true however that people have taken it off the web. I've searched for days with no luck. Then finally I tried Morpheus and got it.

Removing the WTC was the right thing to do. The original scenes untouched will probably be eventually released on DVD anyway. To see what was soon to be a tomb for thousands, maybe even some of the people shown, would destroy a film whoose premise is pure fun. It is not like it was never there, it shows the reality of what is there now. I dont think patriotism is measured by comic book movie trailers, so try to relax. Your seething venom is dripping from your words. I have nothing to do with politically correctness either becuase I think Bush was and is an ass.
