It's been a bad news week so far so I had to post something. Have at it guys.
The crew of new rock movie Rock Star humiliated star Mark Wahlberg by forcing him to listen to one of his old hits while he was filming a crucial scene. Wahlberg was just about to perform for thousands of extras - as Steel Dragon frontman Izzy - when, instead of the rock tune he was supposed to lip sync to, Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch's Good Vibrations was played over the sound system complete with breakdancers who leaped onto the stage.
One crew member says, "Mark's expression was hilarious. I think for a moment his whole life flashed before him. He was mortified."
The scene was so funny, director Stephen Herek decided to keep the outtake in the movie it's played over the credits at the end of the film.

Hey shemp, here is something interesting.
Oshawa ON. August 28, 2001
Attack of the Clones Protest leader Brady Nelson was hospitalized late
Sunday evening when his quad-runner flipped causing a metal rod to pierce his lower left leg. ?Nelson managed to work his way from under the machine and crawl back 20km to the highway before he was spotted and taken to a near by hospital. ?After 6 hours of surgery doctors were able to re-attach all of the tendons which had been ripped from the bone, as well as mend two rather large gashes on either side of his leg.
According to police reports, the front right suspension broke down causing the axle to snap. ?Once the entire front left quarter dipped, Nelson lost control and the bike flipped. ?Detectives on the scene refused to deny the rumor that fowl play was involved. ?It is common that since Nelson started the Star Wars Title protest only a few short weeks ago, he has been the recipient of dozens of death threats. ?It was, in fact, because of these death threats that the revolutionary was hiding out at his lake cottage in the first place.
Nelson, who recently had been leading a crusade against Lucas Films, and
George Lucas himself, for what he has referred to as unjust treatment of
loyal fans, says that he will not let the injury slow down the movement.
"We will continue our fight. ?I spend most of the day at home in bed with my laptop anyway, so it really doesn't make much difference whether I'm here or there." ?Nelson will be kept in hospital for observation before being released on Friday.

Oh, Children!!!
Look, Marky Mark won life's lottery. This musclehead's smart enough to choose good directors and good co-stars to help him look good. Another benafactor of this generosity? Tom Cruise. Whatever you may think, the boy's has some talent. The talent to know who to tease and who to blow & who wants him to bend over to get what he wants. Leave him be and go out & do the same thing...If you got the pecs & abs for it!!

Marky has acting talent.
he can act like his wasn't the funky bunch leader, he can act like everyone doesn't see that when they look at him, he can act like he's not reliving some temper tantrum from his "wonder years",
but in reality, he knows what we think, so I give props to him, he got to have balls to make what name he has now, especially after the funky bunch

please pardon my vernacular.
I tend to write like I talk.
allow me to correct my statement for you wolves.
hmm..hmmm
"I would like to express my admiration to Mr. Mark Walburg for over coming his previous career and over looking the harrassment he must receive from the multitudes of random attackers. It is commendable that he turns the other cheek."
how's that?
better, wolves
now I think that the commendable part was a bit much, but phuck it, I still think he is a horrid actor, but over coming the funky bunch, is real talent.

Marky has no reason to be humiliated. From Calvin Kline undie model to starring in a really good movie about a rock star coming from no where... keep your chin up Mr Wahlberg life hasnt thrown you a serious curve yet. Good Vibration is far from the worst song I have ever heard. So can anybody say if hes actually singing or not in the movie... and get off his back already.... ya jealous bitches

Three Kings, Boogie Nights, I even liked The Big Hit... it was so dumb it was entertaining... wasnt that John Woo directing too?... By the way.. I dislike metal...but I really liked "Rockstar". Its this years "Almost Famous". Suprisingly good.

Mark Wahlberg is good at what ever endeavor he puts his mind too. We can all learn from him. I think he handled his musical flash back with humor, as he later participated by saying a few things in Marky Mark linguistic style. What ever stage of life, Mark is living it to it's fullest. He's not humiliated, he's the king of his castle.

I don't know, I thought he was incredible in Boogie Nights... and believe me, I wanted SO VERY BADLY to hate him, but he was just perfect.
I also hated Johnny Depp on that "21 Jump Streep" crap TV show he was on... who woulda thunk he'd be one of my generation's best actors?
In both cases. I was forced to eat my words because they actually had something going on under all that hype.
Now, Vanilla Ice just sucks at everything he does, and his pathetic comeback under the completely overused and now dead term "alternative" was almost sad.
On that note, talk about some good acting, try Gilmore Girls. Yeah I know, you'd think it was a show aimed at teen girls, but I'm a straight 31-year-old guy and DAMN is it good. The dialogue is consistently hilarious and perfect, the intetaction between the mother-daugher leads is spot-on, Grant Lee Phillips occasionally appears as a street musician, and, one episode showed the two of them gettiing up and making breakfast in the morning to the soundtrack of XTC's Earn Enough For Us, and another episode even mentioned Kraftwerk.
THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION.
Not including Politically Incorrect of course.
Sorry I got off the subject there.
"Peace out, homeslices."
(That's ghetto for "catch ya later.")

Marky Mark is related to the new kids on the block, which much like himself are a very talented group of singers/actors. If anyone saw "Southie", then they've also seen what Pergatory really looks like. Donny Don and Marky Mark are both fat, which is a good thing to be.

I totally did not recognize Donnie Wahlberg - yes, THAT Donnie from New Kids on the Block - in the Sixth Sense. When I saw his name in the closing credits I was shocked.
I saw Boogie Nights and I thought Mark Wahlberg was not bad at all - a tad overrated, but still good.
It's easy to take potshots at Marky Mark. Yeah, musically, Marky Mark and Vanilla Ice are on the same level, but as actors, Wahlberg is totally credible, while Vanilla Ice's one attempt at acting was absolutely pathetic and unintentionally hilarious.
