(SCI FI WIre) Paramount will team with Marvel to develop a feature-film version of the Deathlok comic series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Stu Zickerman and Raven Mentzner will write the script, about a suburban family man who is unwittingly made a test subject for technology research that slowly turns him into a living computer, the trade paper reported.
"We are all becoming more dependent on technology," Marvel Studios chief Avi Arad told the trade paper. "One of these days it's going to be inside of us. For example, we won't need a cell phone; it'll be built into our ear. Now is that a cool thing, or will it destroy us as human beings? Deathlok explores what those consequences may be."
Marvel is producing the project with Crystal Sky Productions. Marvel and Crystal Sky are also developing Dimension Films' Ghost Rider.

How many more boring, comic book "plots" will be produced before the feeble-minded comic-book fan realizes that there really is no such thing as a super hero? The only true characters that come from the colored storybook pages of Marvel and DC are the villians - who in fact are disguised as movie producers and financial backers. Gee - I wonder what will happen after Marvel runs out of titles to do movies of?? Amusement Parks maybe?

The thread title confuses me, is Deathlok a comic book character or a comedian?
Meanwhile look for these titles in the next few months:
Rom: Space Knight
Silver Surfer: Starring Ricky Schroeder
Bucky in Bucky Nights
Namor: 1
and
Namor 2

Whats wrong with bringing comic books to life? Fans of comic book titles have been waiting for the technology and the producers to give them this kind of entertainment since they read their first comic book. It would be such a waste if producers didnt try to create every comic book fantasy story ever told. What would you prefer? Only remakes of romance novels?

I suppose your one of those mindless fools who will bitch and moan about it now and then go see it when it comes out in the cinemas.
If you aren't into comics fine. Don't see it. haven't you got anything better to do than to make comments on stuff that doest interest you?
Live and let live, but first, get a life.
