Having been asked about an Alien sequel over and over again, it appears that Sigourney Weaver is still interested.

It always seemed to me that the Aliens & Predator movies should be franchised. I mean, with Aliens at least, the general concept is good enough to live on without Weaver. Pass the torch to Winona Ryder; do a Predator crossover. Whatever. If the stories are good, money can be made.

I agree. It seems like they could make more movies set in either the alien or predator universe, but thye don't need weaver to do it. After all the movies weren't called "Ripley" were they? They have lots of source material for both projects. There have been many excellent comic series about bothe Aliens and Predator which could be made into great movies. Though just like anything else, after a while they should put it to bed. Anyway, Just my opinion.

I'm not sure a Predator crossover would work. Part of the Predator appeal is the concept of alien's using our present-day planet as a hunting/proving ground. "Aliens" has done nicely with its deep-space futuristic setting. Crossing them could potentially steal one's appeal from the other.
Before an "Aliens 5", I'd like to see a "Predator 3". If they could make it fly with a female lead, maybe in a remote location again, then maybe they can squeeze something worth seeing out of the concept (hell, it could even be pretty good sub-zero setting a la The Thing - takes away the thermal imaging advantage somewhat).
Aliens really held the only banner for female-led action films before Laura Croft, so a replacement for Weaver on the series should really be female (I agree her role has become tired out...), although Winona, god love her, wouldn't be my first choice. In fact, I can't think of anyone I'd like to see do the role, so maybe the Aliens series should die with Ripley after all...

Alien Resurrection...Too bright & clean for an "Alien" movie. I love the dark, dank, dirtiness of the "Aliens". And as for anyone but Weaver, I don't think it could really work. I mean, she was the epitome of the strong, kick-ass, sensitive woman. Who could fill those shoes?

No! Predator 2 was a piece a sh!t hanging from a desperate movie studio's hook!
And the alien skull in the predators ship is absolutely pathetic! Why?! Well,in case you didn't know, an alien has an EXOskeleton - its skleton is on the outside (hence the EXO). What was seen in Predator 2 was a skull of bone - it was white like a human's. The alien skull is BLACK.
Thats how pathetically inconsistent and pitiful the predator films are and it is also why an AvP film is an absolute no in the minds of all TRUE Alien film fans.
I'd just as soon rip off a predators head and sh!t down it's throat, as to go and see a 2-hour movie about them.
