Uh, scratch that, I just noticed the numbers--forty-one million less in ticket sales this weekend than the weekend before, which means folks weren't just against Nick Cage, it was just their weekend to harvest the potatoes.

Lamest. Summer. Ever. (for movies that is)
Hey, Jack or Killbot. Anything controversial in entertainment we can discuss that is NOT Star Wars or remake related. Something we all can take sides on. Y'know, something to separate the men and women from the boys and girls.

This is exactly what I'm bitching about too, Killbot. All of those independant movies are ones I've read raves about or waiting desperately to see.
I realize the big guys have to make cash and return on their investments. Yet they keep playing these sucker bets. It is as though they try to appeal to the largest possible audiences, but the execution is so poor that these movies lately appeal to very few.

I know what you mean. Big movies are sucking more and more ass. I remember waiting in anticipation for movies like indiana jones 3 and being very satisfied after seeing them. Now what do we have? JP3 for f*ck's sake! I haven't been bitching much because the artsy/independant/foreign movie scene has been very pleasing lately. Amores Perros, the princess and the warrior, memento, the anniversary party. All just killer movies that most people haven't even heard of. Perhaps I'll write an article about this subject and start a holy war against today's hollywood!

Have any of you losers seen the movie "Sexy Beast" I 've heard its a winner if you can find it.
It stars Ben Kingsley (Ghandi), of all people, as a sadistic English gangster. I think I'm going to check it out sometime this week and let you know my slant on it.
