Richard Donner to Direct Crazy Taxi Movie

In the fashion of making video games movies Producer-director Richard Donner will be in the driver's seat of "Crazy Taxi," a feature version of Sega's best-selling video game.

Why is the movie industry going down the sh*tter?  Crazy Taxi, an entertaining game, should not be made a movie by any means.  What good can possibly come out of making a film about a guy who drives like a maniac picking up/dropping off people.  If anyone disagrees, please post all comments toward the nearest brick wall.

i agree.
i can't wait to see the plot..if it'll be even worthy of being called that..to come out of this movie.
i think the mentality now is that anything that can make money as a big name is some other industry can be made into a movie and the name itself will turn in a profit no matter how bad the movie itself is.

OH TEH GAY.

Please God, PLEASE let this movie die in development.  This is ALMOST as ludicrous as every OTHER videogame translated to movie...ok, maybe Street Fighter took the cake, but expect the SUCK QUOTIENT to be OFF THE CHARTS on this project.

If anybody can pull this off, Donner can. The man has done some incredible car chases and I doubt he'd have taken on the project if he felt there were no way to fit a halfway decent plot in there somewhere.

I think that this idea has merit. We need more movies about Taxis, but only if they involve the cast from the TV show Taxi or Robert Deniro. Everyone who thinks that this movie is a bad idea is an idiot.

A movie about a crazy Taxi driver would be great!

What?  Donner isn't f*cking Hitchock or Billy Wilder or something!  He's made sh*tty movies before with sh*tty plots that his directing, good as it may be, has never saved.  Anyone forget about "The Toy," "Maverick," and "Assassins"?  Man's no genius.  He isn't bad by any means, but just cause he's directing it doesn't mean its gonna be good.  "Crazy Taxi" will still suck, no matter what.  It'll either suck because it'll stick to close to the game's story (which is fun, but let's face it, is not much of a plot for anything other than a game) or it'll suck because it has nothing to do with the game aside from the character names and the title (see "Street Fighter").  Its suck factor will undoubtedly know no bounds.

There hasn't been a decent movie about the taxi business yet. "Taxi Driver" wasn't about driving a taxi. Neither was "Taxi" the TV series or that Mel Gibson movie, although that apartment scene was hilarious. Driving a taxi can be absolutely crazy. You have to be there; I was for ten years. I've been hoping for someone to come along and make a movie about life as a cab driver. I don't know if this is it but someone needs to do it.

Would someone please tell me the story of Crazy Taxi (the game.)  Last time I played I didn't notice one.  Don't get me wrong, it's a GREAT game, but it doesn't have a story.  It should not be made into a movie.  I'm tired of Hollywood deciding to make movies before a script has been written.

I am betting the story line will be one of those magnolia type plots. sorta documentaryeque, about ten random a%$holes who have nothing in common except the cab they all rode in that day.  

Yeah...It'll still suck.

Id like to say through all the people working on this Crazy taxi movie, Try your hrdest for a good plot, so at least you would get peoples attention then after you got the story think of characters that make you wanna b just like them like for an idol. After you got the character ideas think about evry litte detail you can put in the movie. and also make a good cover for the movie, and always put a funny character for speedin up the audience, :) these are my tips:i think if you ue them youll do fine with the movie and always listen for peoples ideas because they can be usefull\
