CountingDown.com has gotten a bunch of really good stills from what could possibly become known as one of the best movies ever, Steven Spielberg's A.I.

I know that it's the comment that matters and not the spelling, but come on! ?That's really bad. ?To quote Mr. Pink from Resevoir Dogs "...I got two words for you, learn to f*ckin type."

Spielberg's biggest flop was "1941," I believe.
Frankly, I'm worried about A.I. Some folks are calling the next E.T.; worse things could be said. But Kubrick's work was always dark and subtle, two areas Spielberg seems to know little about. Think about this: what if Spielberg had decided to do 2001 or A Clockwork Orange (or The Shining or Eyes Wide Shut...)? Doesn't the thought of what might've been make you folks grimace? Granted, the trailers make A.I. LOOK Kubrick-esque, but...
Truth is, they'll get my twelve bucks, just because I'm a fan of SF. But then, I paid to see Battlefield Earth, too, and what a waste that was.

In case no one noticed, the original thread says "looks like the images were digitally altered."
Aside from pointing that out, I saw a tv ad for it and was shocked to see kubrick's name on maybe one frame (NTSC) that flicked by. Meanwhile, spielberg's statue of himself with Ai bots dancing around it took up the remaining 26 seconds of this spot.
Well, not quite. It looked quite impressive, and may well be a nice tribute to kubrick from the glance I got. But still, I can just see all the people running around saying "great flick, who's kubrick?"

The more I read and see about it I am more sure that this will be a movie I want to see.
I don't think we can really go too wrong with this movie. Speilberg is not very good with dark movies, true. But only because he gets paid by studios to make that type films. He's probably trying to show the industry that he can do good with a darker themed film.
