come on now, theres like 7 fat guys smoking cigars in a back room somewere in the mid-west that make all the decisions anyway, and now these a--holes write a story a week and expect hundreds of thousands of dollars for their garbage? they are getting to sound like so-called Pro-athletes, wah wah wah, we dont make enough, whatever, Im willing to bet if the producers started asking people on the net to send in scripts for shows they would get the same, if not better quality work, these 'writers' have one good season with a show and think that they deserve all that cake?? NO WAY-Dont believe me? check out any given monday or tuesday nite on tv and answer me this: Could a 9yr old kid have written this? nine out of ten times you will say yeah, my 9 yr old could have done better then this!!!

sure, the major difference being that it most likely took the seven fat guys about 10 minutes to come up with full seasons of the trash they put on our tv's every nite, I feel (and mabye im wrong, it happens) that to write a 2 hour movie with the plot twisting and turning as it does in a kick ass movie such as the game takes a considerablely larger amount of time and energy, and when Mike Ferris and John Brancato teamed up and wrote the movie, I doubt they demanded large sacks of cash... They, like all other film makers, took a shot and they got lucky. the more $$ a movie makes, the more $$ they should get, the more $$ all involved should get. I think that these people looking for 100k per episode of a 1/2 hour sitcom have gone nuts, to justify paying 7 people 100k for a half hour is silly, to pay them for a movie that made millions I can see.

As far as the writing for sitcoms goes that's an interesting point, but on the writers side, if they're story or dialouge is what makes the TV show appealing, why should their salary be less than that of the thesbians. In the long run on this grand scale ( television ) it will always come down to the $ and the number of viewers it attracts, thus the parties responsible for the success should reap the benefits. At least in a fair world. While sitcom writing in general is pathetic, if they (the writers) are creating the draw, I believe they deserve an ample share of the bounty.

ok, i agree that the writers do have alot to do with it, but, the director and actors and cameraman, everybody else have to come together to make a hit. If they used unknowns for The Game I dont believe it would be as good a movie, the parties responsible for the success? would that not be everybody involved? I mean, the guy that brought donuts to keep the actors happy so the director can direct should get just as much shouldnt he then? Now Im not saying that they should put it all in a pot and split it even-steven, I just think that there are others involved that also have just as much invested and I have a hard time believeing that the writers are the backbone of it all and should get the lions share...
