To add to the mounting pile of ridiculous Bond casting stories is this one on EmpireOnline associating Christian Bale with 007.. When will it end?

I don't know much about Bale, I saw him in "American Psycho", which was good....could he pull off the accent?
I still think Ruppert EVERTT would make a great Bond, don't confuse his sexual preference with his acting ability and obviously this fella can pull off the look.
However fellow DTheatre chatters, there's a much, much more important topic we should be discussing, and that is "Bond Girls" the woman that make these films sexy, and make Jimmy look like a stud. I heard Whitney Houston will be the next Bond girl, which upsets me, I'd prefer to see some chicks with some meat on them, such as: Halle Berry, Carmen Elektra, Tyra Banks, Michelle Phiefer, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, the chick that married Pete Sampras, Angie Harmon, Karen McDougal, and stick Chasey Lain in there as a villian. As you can see this is a much more pressing subject.

True enough, it was a world better than Russel Crow in Gladiator, where his Australian accent was more than a bit noticable. By the way 100% American, it seems like that band of UK people have vanished, and are not threatning you anymore!
I personally like the ideal of Karen McDougal!
I don't know if she can act, but she has the Bond girl looks through and through, a 10!

100% American,
Great call on Angie Harmon, she's a real beauty, and as of last week left Law & Order to pursue a film career. Most of the time Bond girls are sort of the "it" girl of the moment, in which case I think Pamela Anderson would be cherry as long as she didn't say anything at all.
As far as Bond himself goes, I hope Pierce Brosnan works something out and stays.

I vote for McDougal, she's super hot. Also what about Alyssa Milano, she's hot in a mall sort of way, oh, and Gina Lee Nolin, she's hot in every way.
I guess my main vote is for McDougal, Playboy Super Babe.

I'm not denying that they are not stars I'm just saying they can't act.
Porn Stars aren't on screen to act they're there to um.. and that's why we watch Porn Movies.
A movie which is supposed to join as set of 20 classics which have been going since the early 60's should have an actress in it not a porn star.
Side Note: child-filter engines will not display this page because of the word "porn" :)

I've come across a lot of dumbies on this site, but you are the dumbest by far SHEMP. The accent was in reference to Russell playing BOND, use your head. In Gladiator he clearly had an Australian accent, but was supposed to be from Spain, which is a pathetic sign of lousy acting. To top it off, there was no spain yet during that period!
But I don't expect you to know that Rock Head!
In the future before posting a rip, try thinking it through first.
I would like to see Danny DeVito play Bond, he could give the role a whole new perspective, and a different view the Bond Girls.

Being a chick, I'm afraid I can't really comment too much on who my picks would be for the new Bond girls, and frankly, fetching the latest Maxim issue to flip through and randomly pick some seems like too much work for me right now. Well, here's my two cents...uh, the one with the boobs. :) Preferrably two of them (boobs, I mean). I say the new Bond girls should also have legs as well. No amputees.
I'll just say that I think Bale would be an interesting choice as Bond. I think the earliest film I ever saw him in was Swing Kids, and have seen a few since, including American Psycho, though I wouldn't use that (Am. Psy.) as a scale on which to judge his eligibility for Bond.

Empire of the Sun...he was the kid in the internment Camp with J. Malkovich...the guy has been a great actor since he was at least 11.
He's my vote for Bond.
Jenna would be a great Bond Girl, all kinds of ideas for the director's cut DVD.

How about Mr. T as Bond, or James Earl Jones. I've also discovered that Corey Feldman has a strong following at my work. How about Danny DeVito as the villian?

Of course the actual land mass we now know as Spain was there then, it just wasn't called 'Spain' then. That's all.
And as for the new Bond? Well, I have heard lots of rumours of such hopefuls... Crowe, Bale... I think I even heard Reeves, as is Keanu. The dude rocks, but as for Bond material? I think not. Sean was and always will be the greatest Bond. No question. As for the Bond girl? hmmm... well, seeing as I am an estrogen producer myself, that makes me biased... but what about Halle Berry? The chick is gorgeous ( women can say things like that about other women and get away with it) .. plus she can act.
But seeing ole' Russ as Bond would be quite entertaining tho... he's tried every other accent, he might as well try British.

Technically, this 2 boobs, 2 legs thing would qualify me myself as a Bond girl. Sadly, even though I also have 2 arms, the fact is that those shoes are very hard to walk in. I would probably just end up injuring myself and possibly Corey Feldman (who, with any luck, will be playing the next Bond).

Actually, smart guy, Christian Bale is British, so I think he might be able to pull of the accent.

I'm not a cop, however, I can be a total slob. I'm not a misogynist or anything I just can't pass up an opp to say something bizarre and crude online. It is a compulsion, I hope you were not too offended, so what has fallen off so far....how long have you been dead anyway? Was it a voodoo spell?

I was in no way, shape or form offended. I myself have a certain compulsion to say sarcastic things online. It doesn't go over nearly as well as saying offensive things, as sarcasm is truly a difficult thing to get across via the internet.
The sad fact is that I am not really dead. I know, I know, you're disappointed. The truth is that I am merely a big George Romero fan and a proponent for zombies everywhere.
Nothing has fallen off yet. But I'm still holdig out for the possibility that someday my uterus will go.

You should love your uterus, why do you want to rid yourself of it?
Romero is quite excellent, my mother used to watch zombie movies with my siblings when we were young, we would laugh like circus clowns at the carnage.

whoever said Christian Bale is not cute and would be a bad Bond needs therapy. Christian Bale could totally pull it off. He's got the sexy british accent (him being from penshire wales and all) he's the sexiest person I've ever seen and he's a great actor.

There is no way that this bale character could pull off bond. When you have actors like sean connery and pierce brosnan as comparisons, he would simply fall VERY short. The bond character, besides his obvious suave personality, also has to have the look of a distinguished english gentlemen. Which bale obviously does NOT have.

Hey -- C. Bale IS English, from England (or Wales, to be exact). And as far as I'm concerned, he definitely has that suave and debonair "look" of sophistication needed, PLUS the "bod" (which was on display in "American Psycho"). He's tall (6'2") which should certainly be a "Bond" requirement, and I think he "looks" very English. He's certainly a better choice than some of those lame Bonds from the past (such as Roger Moore who I never felt "fit" the part), and a few others (I can't even remember their names so obviously they never "made" it beyond their "one shot at glory")! I do agree about one thing though -Sean Connery was really the BEST BOND ever by far! Too bad he had to succumb to "Father Time"!
