I live in Victoria, Australia, and I think the ruling to ban the movie for Good Friday sucks. Why impose someone elses beliefs on cinema patrons?

good point, but C'mon. It's one day. There will be people offended by it, and in respect for those people it's not being shown.
Look at it this way. If you go into a resturant or business, chances are there's a no smoking policy (at least in part of the building). Is it fair to smokers? Well, no, but it's not going to greatly inconvienience them either. Smoke, however, would greatly inconvienience another non-smoking patron. So, to better keep the peace, indoor smoking is off limits. The same idea can be applied to this situation.
Either way, no biggie (IMHO). You'll be able to see it on Saturday and thereafter, and the others opposed to its showing on Good Friday will be appeased as well.

This is CRAP! I swear when some one said "freedom of religion" they were joking. There is no such thing and if the christians wanted to show a movie containing a nice story of jesus christ you know it'd be in the theater first thing that morning. This is crap and I feel for all whoo have to deal with that.

It does suck, so what if it offends them no one said they have to go watch it. Leave it to those who which to see it reguardless of the day. Freedoms is what it is all about people. And this is flat out censorship. Damn christians stay out of peoples business ok?

I thought it was "Freedom from religion"...well, maybe that's just me but still, isn't it enough that you have to get in the car, drive to the theatre, pay money and buy overpriced junkfood to see this film? It is not as if it is being shown on a Jumbo-vision screen in the middle of town outdoors. Who should have the right to decide what I see on any given day. I am offended by the strong-arm tactics the so-called "Moral Majority" have used for so long. My advice to the MM folks is...BUTT OUT!

you know i said a little prayer before i responded to your comment. It's a good thing that we do have freedom of religion.. Pure freedom and the freedom to comment on anything we wish. However i do not understand the ban on the movie just because of Good Friday. The movie is not some kindof of bad spiritual message.. just the regular good wins out over bad. I am a christain.. not one of "THOSE CHRISTAINS" I love jesus with all my heart and i don't think showing a movie of any type or not showing it on any given day doesn't have anything to do with Christains or my God. I think it should be up to the people what they can and can not see. To tell you the truth we are not a very big voice in this world. But thats ok also. I think you feel it's the principle of the thing right? I thought we all had freedom of choice in the USA. I hope that one day you will be one of those d**n christains. We are not all the same you know. It's some of those da*n people that give us jesus loving christains a bad name...

If you are responding to me, (the comment directly above yours) I never, not once used the word christians. I did however use the term Moral Majority. I would put it this way, I personally never feel the need or desire to frequent topless bars. Or, bars in general. I rarely drink and do not consider a topless bar a good place for me to be. By the same thinking, I would NEVER tell another man that he should not go to a topless bar. It is not my business what that man does as long as he breaks no laws or puts anyone else in danger. My point is that I am sick and tired of this move toward censorship in the world. If you read back a bit in history, you will see that Adolph Hitler was a very strong supporter of censorship and control of the news medium of the day. Censorship is a bad thing in any context. So, donot be offended by my comments, as I meant none to you or other christians. Thanks.

no offence taken.. if you also remember back even further than Hitler they tried to censor Jesus Christ. His own people were afraid of what he was saying and doing.. He consequently ended up dieing for a kindof censorship don't you think? So my friend we do seem to agree..
totally agree

i totally agree. i think it was a good idea, 2 band the movie on good friday. i mean whether u guys know or not, but this country was based on Christainity, so all of you people should understand that this religion is a very important part of America today. actually i think it's because of Christain founding fathers, that it is what it is today!!!
