Terminator 3, it's a hot topic. It's bound to be a box office hit but who will direct it? ?Well it seems that Jonathan Mostow, the director of U-571 and Breakdown
is in negotiations to take over from James Cameron for the third outing in the Terminator franchise.
After Schwarzenegger and Furlong confirmed their involvement in the sequel, rumoured to be called Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines, Schwarzenegger told reporters that he hoped to work with James Cameron again, but Cameron has officially turned down the job.
Romours flew around that David Fincher, Ridley Scott, Roland Emmerich, John McTiernan and Christian Duguay were in negotiations as well, but after several meetings with Schwarzenegger and producers Mario Kassar and Andy Vajna, Mostow is now firm favourite to take the reigns.
In my opinion, some of Cameron's best work was in the Terminator series. I just hope that whoever picks up the mantle and continues the series will continue the legacy.

Let's hope number 3 will be as good as number 1, and will leave out all the Lame Disney-Esque, Boy meets Terminator 2 routine. Get back to the Good Stuff!

Hey 100% its your old buddy shemp. I have to begrudgingly agree with you on this one. I hope that weenie kid Furlong is a little tougher this time around because I was getting sick of his scrawny, whiny ass in T2.
The Flintstones still stink. Hanna cartoons that did not suck...Scooby doo, Tom and Jerry and many others.

I thought the first Terminator movie was nothing more than a badly-made, corny, typical 80s sci-fi bomb. It was crap. I couldn't stand it. I want those two hours back.

Terminator 1 could have been better, but it told a large part of story. Calling it corny is a bit to muchr. It was, and still is a good movie. You wan't your 2 hours back? Fine. Give your mom back the 36+- hours she spent in labor with you. Then I give you back your 2 hours.

Tbe villain could have more taste. The so-called T-G1 could have super-human speed, the ability to fight someone at a fast rate, and someone who has 20-5 vision or something. For T3 is looking for a female, it better be someone that we never heard of. Just like in T2, Robert Patrick played the T1000 role perfectly well, and we did not know him before. The film should take 3 hours or at least longer than T2 and T1. Longer films are better. Look at films like Titanic and Forrest Gump.

I am so obcessed with the Terminator series I wish everyone could return in the third one that did the first two.
As far as a female Terminator I was thinking Charlize Theron.
The thing about Robert Patrick was that he was smaller than Arnold and would man handle Arnold, he was perfect for the role.

My only fear is that the third will be some special effect extravaganza of all these nifty computer models without a plot a.k.a Twister 2, Star Wars I, Spawn, etc. When I heard that the terminator will have "special powers", I thought, oh great, another one of these "Let's break these laws of physics" and such with things impossible happening. I would much more like to see a metal terminator made out of solid metal. Maybe two or three. I don't need to see any one's dissappearing and going through walls or any that can melt and morph. In fact, it would be much better to make it like the last planet of the apes (but this time, the plot would work!) instead of these time travelling super hereos it could mirror other movies like Colossus: The Forbin Project and War Games and still maintain it's action. And one more thing, what is it with the model number of Schwarzenegger changing. Rumors of T4 I have also read about. If this goes into production, I would think that Schwarzenegger himself would need to be CG.

Have to agree with you on the John Connor/Edward being a bit whiny (can you say MUTE). I'm sure he's a good kid, it's just that the filming seemed to take place during the awkward puberty stage where the voice isn't quite up to the task... Would love to have them bring back Sara and Kyle but the age thing (it's been how many years?) would be an issue (not that I think an older man isn't worth the $9.50 for a ticket- anytime, anyplace)
