FBI Probing Russell Crowe Kidnapping Plot

(Reuters) As reported Monday, Russell Crowe has been threatened with kidnapping.  Now the FBI is investigating the matter.

Though the FBI isn't giving out details of the matter, as is usual practice on cases currently under investigation, they said that they have interviewed Crowe on the situation.

Crowe's publicist, Robin Baum, said, "We're aware of (the plot) and the FBI has been helpful in guiding us, and he (Crowe) has taken the necessary security precautions."

No word on whether he's getting any FBI protection, but word is that he's already increased his own personal security.

Well, I for one, hope they get the situation resolved.  All this media and government attention probably has scared off the potential kidnappers, but you never know.  It IS ironic that the newest "silver screen bad ass" is acting as scared as he is, but he has every right to be.

He's been threatened with kid-napping?  Did somebody send him a letter stating this?  Did he receive a phone call?  How did this all come up?  Why would the FBI be in this at all?  If you or I called the FBI and said "somebody threatened to kidnap me"  do you think they would do anything?  Probably nothing but laugh.  I just don't think I understand the situation.  Does anybody know more info. on this?                                ?SM

I have heard of the Russell Crowe,but,why would anyone "threaten" to kid-nappe the actor?First,why inform the gentleman as to your actions,and second,why not do something bigger,such as Gates,Trump,or the guy who cut you of in traffic this morning.No intelligent being would ever inform somebody as to their intentions to harm that person.I guess we really aren't all that intelligent
