Alien 5 Report Just a Rumor

Well it turns out, there is no Alien 5 in the works, and Sigourney Weaver has not been offered $20 million to reprise her role as Ripley. Virtually everybody said it was true. Well, we and they were wrong.

Weaver Denies Alien 5 Report

Sigourney Weaver, through a spokesman, denied widespread reports that she was going to be paid $22 million to reprise the role of Ellen Ripley in a fifth Alien movie, Variety columnist Michael Fleming reported. The Alien story first appeared in the British Sunday Express tabloid newspaper and was picked up by the Reuters news service. But Fleming reported that no new Alien movie is in the works, and that her quotes came from an old press junket interview. The Express had also reported that Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon would pen the script; that also appears unlikely.

I admit, I jumped the gun. It's a shame woulda' been cool though.

Two mistaken stories in one week. Wow. Perhaps Sigourney will be playing Willy Wonka and Marilyn Manson will be playing Ripley. Don't have a third recant in the same listing of headlines or damn it, I won't come back. Jsut kidding. Movie rumors kick ass. If you make up another, make it 'Nicole Kidman proposes to fan from Denver that reads Digital Theater.'

im glad to hear that this was just a rumor. this franchise shoul have been killed after #3. If I were sigourney weaver, I would do everything in my power to buy all existing copies of Alien Ressurection and have them destroyed.
