The film is going to have a "road trip" premise, with the main characters heading through Kansas at one point.
I don't know about you but the main reason that I watch Kevin Smith movies is for Jay and Silent Bob! This story was sent to us by Nstraps, on of our loyal Dtheatre readers.

I'm sure it will be excellent, but I hope it keeps with the quality of the other 3(excluding mallrats). I actually, do watch Smith's films for more than Jay and Silent Bob, so I hope they are still the secondary characters(I'm sure they will be). And I hope Silent Bob doesn't talk too much... :)

I share your intrests in Kevin Smith's films (even the exclusion of the funny but pointless Mallrats) However count on Jay and Silent Bob being the main characters in this one. Sort of like in Dogma, maybe even more so.

Mallrats wasn't great, and I'll tell you why. It was pointless. Clerks had more going for it than Mallrats, and it was pretty pointless. It took away from the dialouge, and made it more scenario based, and that was a change that Kevin Smith hadn't really gotten the hang of at that point. The premise was really stupid, and even Kevin Smith publicly appologized for making that movie. The saving grace was the hilarious ending with the dating show. I was rolling. I liked Mallrats much more than other movies, but it is still Smith's poorest work as of yet.

The pointlessness of Mallrats was one of its best aspects for me. The effort made in the film by certain people to do absolutely nothing mirrors several peoples lives, while still showing how you somehow get involved in all manner of crazy sh*t and excellent adventures

youre wrong about that, its pointlessness makes it an existential classic. While not his best movie, kevin smith has said that mallrats is his favorite to watch because it is mindless fun, you can miss thirty minutes of it and still pick it up and laugh without the feeling of missing anything. Personally i like clerks the best but this one is my favorite to watch

Dude what the hell are you talking about? Jay and Silent Bob have been the secondary characters for years and finally they have been given the chance the be so-lo. Silent Bob is a funny fu(ker when he talks. Kevin Smith is great because, you expect him to act some what like Jay. But, he's smart as a mother fu(ker. So this is one reason after four movies they deserve to be in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

What the hell have you been smokin'. Clerks was good but, in my opinion Mallrats was better. I believe that Mallrats was the best Kevin Smith film to date. The movie that I believe was some what pointless was Chasing Amy. The whole Lesbian story was after a while. But, to get to what you were writing about. I believe that Mallrats was a great release from the regular Smith film. Other than Dogma Mallrats was the film I think that Jay & Bob were in the most amount of time. Jason Meows & Smith work so well off of eachothers comedy. You should just sit back and watch that damn movie again so you'll figure out that Jay & Silent Bob ruled in Clerks but, Mallrats was the better Jay & Bob work.

Mallrats was a good movie. I think it was almost an homage to John Hughes, sure his movies weren't spectacular but they were funny and you could watch them anytime you wanted a cheap laugh. I think Mallrats was Smith's successful attempt at making a Hugh's movie for the 90's, look at the Breakfast Club for Christ's sake.

jay and silent bob r the best too actors on the face of the planet and there parts in mallrats and clerks made the films better without them in mallrats it would just be two guys running around after unattractive women and ending with the show wich was funny in the end !!!!!!!!1
