I think this would kick butt. Jet is cool, but so is Michelle! (Also, Patrick Ewing has a little bit of a crush on her . . . so I've heard).

Michele would do an awesome job in both parts but 3 mil, come on i think they could offer alot better than that. And as for Li asking for 13 mil, that aint too much for him to ask for compared to what some of the actors, and actresses are getting in Hollywood.

First, I am not "random shemp". My puter and I disagree on what it should do. Anyhow on with the comment, I think that an offer of 3 million is plenty. I believe that if more movie makers did the same, it might curb the absolutely ridiculous price tags on current actors and actresses. Does anybody really think that they "earn" millions to be in a movie? I think most of us work harder, and longer, and will never see a fraction of their wealth. I haven't seen Michelle in any movies so I can't judge her ability. However Jet is pretty good. Gender aside, if he's to snobby to stoop to 3 million, he probably doesn't deserve it.

I agree. Same thing with atheletes. Who really needs A-Rod's $150+ million salary? What can you do with 150 million dollars, that you can't do with 10 million? 3 million dollars is more money than most of us will make in a lifetime, so these actors shouldn't have a problem with holding back for only a few months worth of work...

Well if you have it, you have it. And Jet thinks he got. And thats why he wants more money. So your saying that if you have enough skill to do something, you wouldnt you push the limits of how much you can ask for?
Dont forget..."The More The Merrier" right?

true, I can see your point. And Jet Li is a special case. He does all of his stunts, and he's got a black belt in kung fu (correct martial art, or is it Jujitsu?), so I can see where he'd want more money. But to ask for an exorbinant amount of money just because you've become a big name is unethical. I hope that they're giving to charities or something...

Have you seen crouching tiger yet?
No? I didn't think so.
Before you all start suckin' Jet's dick, you might want to check out the most influential martial arts movie of our recent history. Michelle Yoeh Kicks major ass. For all I care, Jet Li can skip out on the Matrix and do Lethal Weapon 5.

When you talk about sucking jets dick...sorry buddy but it has nothing to do with that, i have been watching Kung Fu, Martial Arts movies from a young age, got friends that are Asian so you get to see alot of movies that arent released her, like Drunken Master, thats one of Jackies oldest movies, so i'm not judging based on just the one movie, i've seen enough to say hey he's good enough to want more...they could come to an agreement...somewhere in the middle, but when your greedy...
I bet you judge Jackie Chan from the comedic martial arts movies he's in but if you see the ones where its actually serious...thats why i'm saying Jets good enough for the movie, based on what i've seen.

YES!! Drunken Master rocks!! That's me and my bf's favorite movie - we were really happy when they re-released DM2 and put it in theaters :) Jackie CHan is the man - Jet Li is great too and Michelle is amazing - but I'm big on Bruce Lee, myself.

Since when did the Matrix turn into a martial arts movie?
I hope that Matrix2&3 do not turn into some cheap ass Hong Kong action flick. Jet Li's last 2 American movies sucked compared to the Matrix. There is no way that he is worth 13 million for 2 films.
I say keep the whole martial arts thing a small part of the Matrix or else risk ruining the whole vibe.

Did anyone mention to him that he would just be the SUPPORTING actor?? Who does he think he is? Jim Carrey? What sort of lifestyle is he living that he would require a $13 million yearly salary?! He must be doin' some serious partyin! Damn!
Well, give him another 3 years and he'll be begging to work for $3 and a can of Coke.

Entertainers, Athletes and even CEO's get paid on the revenue they generate for the thousands of shemps like you and me based on what the market for their talent is willing to pay. Don't ever forget that. It's what makes this country Great! And don't for one minute say you wouldn't do the same thing if you were in the same situation. You'd want as big a paycheck as you could get! Capstone

Jet Li produces all of his own movies and it very good friends with the martial arts coordinator of Matrix. They have worked together coproducing and directing almost all of Jet Li's movies. I doubt there will be any hard times anytime soon for him. There's got to be another side of the story somewhere.

i think michelle would make a perfect matrix actress, she's good no matter what she does. i like jet li, but nothing compared to chow yung fat or jackie chan. they do know what they're doing though. i have to agree that "the legend of the drunken master" was the best movie ever, and "croughing tiger hidden dragon", michelle just blew our brains on the one, even though the movie wasn't about her!

I love the matrix and martial arts isn't the main theme of the movie, but i believe that it wouldn't had been as successful as it was if there weren't those super SFX and those awsome fights coordinated by Yuen Wo Ping. The sequels have to maintain the good story telling and good arguments but keep the fighting as good as the first one.
All american movies suxxxxxxx when it becomes to fighting scenes excepting the matrix and some others with many martial artist.
The matrix is the best combination of the artistic side and the entertaining side in a movie.

Jet Li is the master... There is no doubt about it. If he cant ask for $13 million for two big budget blockbuster movies which would take up a year of his life where he could be making one movie and earnign more, then no on can ask for that much. He was approached for these sequels and crouching tiger before anyone else, including Chow Yun Fat and jacky Chan. There is a good reason for this, cos he is the best! If faggot actors like Mel Gibson can ask for 20 million a movie without any real talent, except being able to speak a lot of bullsh*t, then Jet is definitely entitled for even more than 13 million. Dont forget, even though Jet li played a rather small, villains part in Lethal weapon 4, his polpularity and stardom exceeded that of Mel Gibson in almost every country they went to promote LW4 except (of course) USA. The producers of Matrix obviously want this to be an international blockbuster and not just a Hollywood flick, otherwise why would they be after genuine martial artists like Li and Yeoh? Keanu Reaves poxy attempts to do Kung-Fu with the help of state of the art special effects would satisfy most ignorant viewers, but for genuine martial artists its a different story. You cant put a price on Authenticity, thats why Li is the first man on the list whenever there is a Martial arts film being made. Allthough Matrix is not a martial arts flick, they would want it to look as good as possible. Keanu Reaves or Hugo Weaving trying to convince me that they can do Kung-Fu aint gonna happen, Reeves cant even convince me he can act :p

Jet Li is Wudang member. Allthough his style originated from Shaolin (like most styles) he has no direct ties to the temple. He doesnt need to ask them for permission or approval to do whatever he likes. His on a mission to promote Wushu to the world, if he wants 13 million for his skill, i think he's entitled to it. He owns the Wushu film market so he should be right up there in the big bucks when it comes to marketing his talents. This only so that guys who rent half as good as him cant come in and rip off ignorant American producers claiming they are the real thing. jet has to set the standard so that anyone who wants to follow his legacy has to be able to live up to it.
