Bryan Singer is reportedly in talks to direct X-Men 2, and told the Comics Continuum Web site that he's hoping to add new characters to the sequel to this year's hit X-Men.
"Gambit and Beast are two characters I miss terribly," Singer said. "Beast was in the [first X-Men] script for a while, but then when you've got Mystique with nine hours of makeup and these challenges, you have to choose your battles."
Singer added, "But there are many characters we'd like to have, from Nightcrawler to Proteus to Gambit. Some interesting characters. Some which might translate well to film, and some which might not as easily and some that won't translate until technology advances another 20 years."
The Continuum also reported that the upcoming DVD release of X-Men contains character designs for Beast and Blob, who did not make it to the final cut.
Currently, all of the major cast members of X-Men are signed for the sequel, in which production could begin hopefully sometime next year.

Wolverine should be kept and mistique is amazing. The music that went with her is truley dark. X-Men 2 should be a bit darker and less comic book like, even darker than Batman.

You know for all that time and effort with Mystique's make-up, you'd think you get to see her a little better. We didn't even get a nice token ass shot of her!

Just a Thought. Eventhough Singer most likely started on
X-Men2, It would Be (I don't know) kinda cool to do it according to the Night Of The Sentinels Video, Which Features Prof.X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolv.,Storm,Rogue,Gambit,Beast,Jubilee,and an little-unknown Shift-Changer named Morph,Hey! He would make unique addition. I'll List The Villains Later and the plot. Check The Video Out!

I thought night of the sentinels was good but the story singer came up with was better and to add the sentinels to the film would be like giving joel schumacher complete sontrol of the film. suck my plums!!

I agree. I wasn't too pleased with Sabretooth. I think that in the next movie Singer should focus on the dark past of Wolverine and how he became what he is. The reintroduce Sabretooth because in the comic the best part was Waolerine and Sabretooth's hate for one another. Any one agree?

Yeah me again. Look the sentinels were good but in the film they would suck!! Singer was right making the film dark and focus on the evolution of the human race. To add big pink robots would ruin it all. Batman was promising but ruined in the end I would hate to see this happen to the x-men.

hey ive got an idea first like singer want x-men 2 whith the senitels and xmen 3 with the giant apoucalpse and then why dont they make a movie about x men in russia vs that omega- red or x men in time trap wen bishop went back through time to destroy mistakenly gambit or wen wolvie and storm went back through time to save exavier in the past...wish that my openion will be usefull.

I think Night Crawler would look great on screen, but the only down side would be that he might be compared to Spider Man a bit too much. And we all know that the Spider Man film is on it's way soon.

there's no way they could get rid of Anna. To do that would screww the entire series up. Stick with the same cast for all three. It would make more semse.

Morph is a VERY stupid character, made for the saturday morning cartoons!! Please do not use morph in any of the movies. There are so many other interesting characters to explore!
