Knight Rider on the Big Screen?

During an interview with late-night talk show host (and my hero) Conan O'Brien, David Hasselhoff told him that he plans to adapt the 1980s television series Knight Rider for the big screen. I remember watching that show as a little kid, and man did it kick ass.

To refresh memories here, Knight Rider was a crime fighting show (of course, its the 1980s) featuring Hasselhoff as the crime fighting dude and his cool talking super-powered Trans-Am code named KITT. Those flashing red lights were classic.

Hasselhoff said the film would be set in the future but would feature KITT and himself fighting crime.

Right on, but hopefully it won't be as cheesy as the new Knight Rider shows that were on (or may still be?). Those were the worst shows I've ever seen. Wasn't like "Team Knight Rider" or some crap like that?

Yeah, Team Knight Rider. What a pile of Poo. Even the Knight Rider TV movie done after the TV show with KITT trasnsplanted into another car wasn't as good, although i think I just missed the car personally. The series was excellent though!

Hasselhoff is a loser!

Plain and simple. Maybe he should adapt Hardcassel and McCormick to the big screen so he can write in a scene where he blows himself.

Kudos brother! Hasselhoff's career is in the pooper! What's next "Automan - The Movie". Does anyone remember "Automan"? Hey how about "Automan vs KITT"?

The last two quotes are hilarious, HardCastle and McCormick, that shit was awesome, Wouldn't it be funny to see Ernest Borenind blow the other dude? Damn what a concept! Oh yeah, David Hasselhoff is a fucker and rapes sheep. Go David you peterpuffer.

The Original series ruled and is still on on "Bravo" on sky digital in Britain and Ireland. Weekdays at 12.00 noon and again at 8.00pm! Its only a bit into series 1 aswell. The new s&*te TKR is brutal and is a disgrace to the original!!!!!Can't wait to see if there is a new movie and they have 2 use the original K.I.T.T (trans-am) and th orig. voice (William Daniels) r it will b crap.

Yeah Knight rider rocks, and if it is adapted for the bigscreen TV its be brilliant, team knight rider sucked bitime (tho there were a few gorgeous bimbos on it) overall it sucked bigtime I say use the original voice of KITT and the original 1982-1988 transams and put in david as a retired 'employee of the knight foundation' and maybe like he's gotaa do this one last job, before handing over the keys of KITT to the foundation (maybe he gets to keep the car in the end..that would be heart warming) i have like 20 or so episodes on tape and on my PC all burned into a CD (including the first time where micheal met KITT) and i love it..i say GOOO KNIGHT GOOO

I would love to see Knight Rider make it to the big screen.  A hit show like that with the funds of a Hollywood production can only be good.

I love Knight Rider :-) It was massive here in the UK along with the A team and others. If more of these wonderful shows were made to inspire the imagination of todays kiddies we may have a better nation, instead of the fat useless benefit seeking lot we have now. Everyone wasnts the big money but wont go out and earn it, theres no need to have a hero nowadays - you just reasd the papers everyday and learn very quickly you will never be as rich as beckham so why bother anyway ? Oh a change of the times ..... Kids nowadays are watching real hardcore killing at 14 .... why have decent teenager drama that pretend to kill them?

I look at movies and actors as jobs and employees.  I am over 50 and did accept some positions that really sucked.  I had some real good jobs too.  So I just watch the movies for entrtainment.
