From a Variety report, the creators of Fox's animated King of the Hill signed a deal to create a new Fox sitcom featuring a talking orangutan. You know, those furry red-haired primates from the island of Borneo. Just thought I'd throw in my amazing geographic information there.. heh.
Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland are developing the as-yet-untitled project, which will deal with a crocodile hunter who hosts a Los Angeles TV show alongside the orangutan. Sounds like an interesting enough concept so far.
Cohen and Freedland plan to use computer imagery to bring the show's orangutan to life. Their deal to create a pilot for the crocodile-hunter project is part of a multiyear development deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television.

I don't know a thing about your project but, PLEASE don't rip off Steve Irwin. He is THE Crocodile Hunter. He (and his wife Terry) are the real thing.

THE CROCODILE HUNTER (Animal Channel) is cooler and funnier than any piece of crap TV show you over-paid and underwhelming bozos will ever come up with.

Exactly. I love the way hollywood rips off what is original instead of creating original programming.

Yeah, Steve's the greatest (Terry, too). What bothers me about this Hollywood thing is that Steve Irwin has worked his whole life passionately teaching and believing in animal rights. His sincerity is genuinely touching. His expertise is impressive. He also happens to be incredibly fun to watch. And now he'll be ripped-off by sun-dried chuckleheads who passionately care about only one thing: TV ratings. Steve Irwin is a living legend. And now some schmuck sees the Fed-Ex commercial and a dim bulb goes off in his head? It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'M BOYCOTTING THIS SHOW.
