Conan the Barbarian Returns

According to a report from Variety, John Milius, director of 1982's Conan the Barbarian, will write and direct a new installment of the film franchise that once starred Arnold Schwarzenegger during his younger and more buffed days. Warner Brothers acquired the rights to the character created by writer Robert E. Howard from Stan Lee Media.

Milius wrote the original film with Oliver stone, and currently they are still working out the story. There's also talk about having Schwarzenegger come back in the film in some capacity, but it is still unclear as to how prominent a role he would play.

And as if people have already heard enough of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, he was also asked in talks to appear in the movie. However, The Rock had to pass it after agreeing to star in The Scorpion King.

Larry and Andy Wachowski, best known as the creators of The Matrix, will co-create the new Conan concept with Milius. The brothers are also hoping that they could direct the second unit on the film too. Quite the interesting combo so far.

nobody but nobody can play conan or more
to arnolds age,king conan.it would be a disgrace to the story if you change what has become a icon to us,the life and exspirences
of conans quest for his queen and kingdom.

I can't imagine anybody else playing conan the barbarian. I still watch that movie when it comes out. Or I will rent it. I have probably watched 10 + times. I will be and would be a disgrace if you remake it with someone else as conan.

It will be not only the worst Conan movie but the least entertaining if Arnold is not Conan. Give me a break people. Arnold is Conan. Or is Conan Arnold? You get the picture.

Maybe Arnold will play the father of a child that he and valeria had...or somethn like that..or a descendant to someone..They wont change the story..they'll have Arnold play CONAN but an older conan and now he has to pass his spirit to his son..to re-live a new saga! ya know!!! ps- they better get basil poledouris to do the moosic...he was good!!

I think that the current Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman will make an awesome Conan

Yeah, OK the current Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman has won three times in a row and has a huge following but the whole object is can he act and is he mean enough? Remember not only was Arnold big and bad but he was mean as well. Don't get me wrong, Conan, I mean Arnold just had what it takes to be the Conan character. It was written for him. The idea of a Black Conan might be interesting and may work. Of course Milius has the last say on that. If you ask me I would of course ask Arnold.

The only way to succeed in this production is to star Arnold as Conan.  Nobody can possibly replace him!!  Remember the scene from the end of the movie where they show Conan as a king.  THAT'S WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!!

Conan lived to take on his own kingdom, by force of his own personal courage and strength.  This is part of the legend, as written by Howard, and therefore commands the presence of the original Conan (that would be Arnold) in order to maintain continuity.  Arnold may be 54(?), but we should all pray to Crom that we would look that fit at any age.  Any other imposter posing in his place would be ludicrous by comparison.  Arnold IS Conan (the character), and he is personally of an age to complete the cycle of his tale in a credible  fashion.  Conceptualize all you want, but don't ignore the drawing power of the man who is the legend to those of us who give a rip--and will spend ludicrous amounts of money to see him in the movie.

Arnold is the Barbarian, his acting style was perfect to play this character.  If anyone else plays Conan, you can be sure it will have nothing to do with the excellent original other than the name!!!!!!!!

Ok, maybe he can have a sidekick, but Arnold, please play Conan again!
