Apple has released a public preview of the next generation of their streaming media technologies - QuickTime version 5.?

QuickTime 5's many new features also include a new QuickTime TV channel display and new audio controls.?Also on the list of new features is a component downloader for adding plug-ins on the fly, support for new Web codecs including Flash 4, VR and ShoutCast.?Quicktime's streaming server 3 also now supports 'skip protection' which prevents media skipping.?


In addition QT 5 will feature a 'Hot Picks' guide, support for Sorenson Video 3, easy developer support for delivering new UIs (skins), an improved digital video codec for improved iMovie playback and real-time professional video editing support for professional appz such as Final Cut Pro.?
