Morgan Freeman's effort to develop a feature film based on Arthur C. Clarke's epic SciFi novel Rendezvous with Rama has been quite a long-stalled project. However, that situation may change and get a good start now that chip maker giant Intel Corp. has partnered with Freeman's Revelations Entertainment company.
The bond between Intel and Revelations, created by Freeman and partner, Lori McCreary, is a strategic partnership. The partnership has spawned from Freeman's plans to produce Rama, and it looks like David Fincher (Alien 3, Seven, Fight Club) will be directing it. How's that for bad ass?
Also, the partnership will lead to the formation of a subsidiary to develop digital filmmaking for Revelations, and any interrelated studio or project for that matter.
"The current trend toward more digital effects in film will continue until digital cinematography is the norm, not the event that it is now, and Lori and I created Revelations with this kind of technological leap in mind," Freeman stated in a Variety report.

Random Shemp Indeed!
Well, this news I have been waiting a good ten years for!
...Personally, I wish I was the one behind the cameras, but if Freeman can keep the same integrity for Rama as Jackson appears to be keeping for The Lord of the Rings, then he's welcome to look me up for a cameo.
