Toshiba's new drive, dubbed SD-W2002, offers an 8MB buffer.?The ATAPI-interface SD-W2002 reads and writes 4.7GB media at 2,704KB/sec and 2.6GB media at 1,350KB/sec.?Random seek times clock in at 120ms for DVD-RAM and DVD-ROM and 90ms for CD-ROM media.? "Toshiba is pleased to deliver a DVD-RAM drive that will increase the overall value and creative abilities of PC users," said Maciek Brzeski, vice president, marketing, Toshiba SDD.?"Both businesses and consumers will benefit greatly from a rewriteable drive that will store more than 400,000 documents or 4,700 full-color digital photos on a single disc."
