(Geocast Networks Systems Inc. is urging TV stations attending the NAB convention in Las Vegas this week to devote part of their new digital spectrum to deliver video content to personal computers.?Noting that TV stations currently have little opportunity to recoup their investment in digital transmitters given the slow acceptance by the public of digital TV sets, Geocast chief James Ramo told Bloomberg News: "We have one of the first business models that works for digital television [now]." He noted that crystal-clear video images and CD-quality sound can be delivered over the air by TV stations to computers.?The Geocast system was demonstrated Tuesday with a live "digicast" to the convention from Las Vegas TV station KLAS-TV.
