On Napster And Cable Modems

A bit of shocking news today...According to a story from Wired, the cable modem ISP Cox@Home San Diego is starting to crack down on Napster usage.?If an @Home user is found using this program then they will lose their cable modem accounts.?They receive an email warning 72 hours before their service is shut off so as to give them a chance to correct their evil ways.?Cox's only legitimate argument is that Napster is considered server software, which in the license agreement explicitly states that servers may not be run on @Home computers.?I am quite shocked, surprised, worried, etc...?If these regulations stay in place, cable modem providers might start cracking down elsewhere.?Well I had better go shut Napster off now...?Read more.
