(IDG) Six major movie theater chains have teamed up to form a company to sell tickets, offer movie reviews and provide show times via the Internet, telephone and wireless devices. Two venture capital firms are putting up $30 million to get this started.?Citysearch has proven very useful for me, but it would be nice to actually buy tickets after reading a review and finding a nearby theatre.?Hopefully that will prevent such great tragedies as buying 5 tickets at full price for The Ninth Gate.?The theatre chains involved are: Regal Cinemas, Loews Cineplex, Cinemark, General Cinema Theatres, Edwards Theatres, and Century Theatres.?Also, TicketBastard will be offering electronic distribution of tickets, where you can print barcoded tickets from your computer.
