Angelina Jolie to play Lara Croft By Azad, (DT) March 3, 2000 3:40 PM PT

? It actually looks like Angelina Jolie might be playing Lara Croft in the upcoming Paramount movie Tomb Raider. The movie will be based, obviously, on the Eidos Interactive video game series of the same name. Earlier, it was indicated by director Simon West, that he was looking for an unknown actress to play the part. Having Angelina Jolie play the part of the sexy archeologist adventurer contradicts the "unknown actress" factor, but hey, isn't sex appeal the overriding factor? Despite that fact, Jolie does embody some of the qualities of Croft: intrepid, resourceful, athletic, and I'll repeat it again, sex appeal! Tomb Raider is set to begin production this summer. Yeah baby, yeah.
