Kevin Spacey and the Awards

"American Beauty," has already dominated the Hollywood Oscar nominations, and on Wednesday took over the British Academy Film Awards. The film, a triumph for first-time British director Sam Mendes, attracted 14 nominations, including best actress for Annette Bening and best actor for Kevin Spacey. Next in line came Irish director Neil Jordan's "The End of The Affair" with 10 nominations and British director Anthony Minghella's "The Talented Mr. Ripley" with seven. "Today's nominations are a true reflection of the continuing resurgence of the British film industry," said awards chairman Tim Angel. While we are on the subject; Kevin Spacey, has been named an Oscar presenter. Spacey won the supporting actor statuette four years ago for his work in "The Usual Suspects."
