(SB)-Universal
Studios' marketing unit and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment
have struck a deal with the developer of Furby
to create an Interactive E.T. that can do all of the |
| things Furby can do -- plus light up its finger. The toy, which manufacturer
Tiger Electronics,
a division of Hasbro, plans to introduce
this summer, will have a 400-word vocabulary, enabling it to speak over
1000 phrases. Amblin exec Brad Globe said in a statement that the company
decided to partner with Tiger because "like E.T. did in the original
film with Elliott, the Furby mimics and learns from its human friends."
The toy is expected to sell for $35. |
