During the year 1948 where war and chaos reins in war-torned Jerusalem, Hind Husseini opened an orphanage. Soon it was filled with oever 2000 orphans, one of them was a seven year old girl named Miral. Ten years later, she was assigned to teach at another refugee camp, where she meets and falls in love with the political activist Hani. Because of this, she finds herself in a personal conflict and dilemma: whether she must follow on with Hani, or to follow Hind's belief that education is the ultimate solution to peace.
