A new xtension from A Lowly Apprentice Production Inc. called Image port allows photoshop psd files to be imported directly into quark without losing any of the photoshop features such as layers, clipping paths, and channels.?The ImagePort palette provides familiar controls to give the user full access to layers, channels and paths in a Photoshop image, according to Greg Hatem, product manager at A Lowly Apprentice Production.?Currently, if a user has layers in a Photoshop image, the image must be "flattened," or stripped of all layering information, before it can be imported into a QuarkXPress layout.?
