The land of Earthsea is in danger due to an unknown magical disturbance. Dragons have began appearing while crops and livestocks are dying, threatening to bring chaos everywhere. In order to find out what's behind this mystery, Lord Archmage Sparrowhawk, a master wizard, takes on a long and perilous journey in search of these forces. He meets Arren, a young prince who is deeply troubled by an enigmatic shadow. He also meets a former priestess named Tenar with her daugter Therru.
