Marine data base search.Looking through the records stored in a marine data base or an air force data base may reveal a lot of information about members of your family. Historian and journalists also find these databases a very useful resource for finding military information from the past. Probably the best marine data base is managed by the National Archives. There you can find marine records for all officers and personnel serving the U.S marine. If you are interested in getting a copy of a record, you can submit a formal request form and wait for the copies to be posted back to you. Searches can also be made in person by visiting the National Archives. Air force data base search. Most of the records can be accessed by anyone interested in viewing them. However there are also records to which certain access restrictions apply. They cannot be opened unless their owners (or next of kin of the owner) give their consent. The request is done by filling in and submitting a standard request form and the results are posted after a couple of weeks. |
