Attorney of record information. An attorney record is a public record that some courts keep. Attorney records are in fact registers of all attorneys working on court's cases. Each file contains information about the attorney as well as information about the case (date, case number, etc). People are usually allowed to view these records through the standard court procedures for public records access. An attorney of record is an attorney that was assigned by a court of hired by a client to plead on their behalf. For example if somebody is getting a divorce, their attorney will be the attorney of record for this case. Attorneys of record remain such until they are substituted (by the court or by the client) or until the case is closed. How to obtain an attorney track record?
The above problem can be easily overcome if you use an online public records database and search the records there. Such web sites pull information from all available courts and this is why your search will take you just a few minutes. |
