Violence Erupts at Sundance

Violence erupted at the Sundance Film Festival this week.?The usual suspect was in fact Courtney Love, in Park City to promote her new film, Beat, in which she plays Joan Burroughs, the unfortunate wife of writer William S.?Burroughs.?Like every self-respecting indie production, the producers of Beat were celebrating their Festival premiere on Wednesday with a party at Park City's Lakota Restaurant.?Also attending the shindig was Hollywood Reporter critic, Kirk Honeycutt, fresh from a screening of the film, and his photographer wife Mira.?However, when Mira began taking pictures of Love as she left the restaurant, Love took offense, the New York Post reported.?Although the producers of Beat authorized Mira Honeycutt to take pictures, Love, according to the Post, pulled the camera from the hapless photographer and threw it to the ground.?Kirk Honeycutt moved in to defend his wife's photographic honor and a shouting match ensued.?Honeycutt allegedly referred to Love as a "f*cking pig." Love's boyfriend, the record executive Jim Barber, then stepped into the fray.?The situation was eventually diffused, with apologies all around.?Kirk Honeycutt has since asked another Hollywood Reporter writer to pen the film review, as he believes his experience with Ms.?Love might prejudice him against Beat.?One might suspect that a viewing of Love's performance would be enough to confirm any prejudices he might have.
